Message from the artist
SkullKing Threshold is my entry for the OST Composing Jam [Sandbox] 2024 hosted by Lone Rabbit. This track is part of a fictional video game idea (either rpg or platformer) where the player is in a pre-boss fight stage.

The track transitions between introducing the main riff, into an atmospheric, ambient mood in which the player would be arriving and entering the "Threshold". The track takes a turn after this to a more upbeat, funky/EDM feel which would be the start of the dreaded battle.

Palindromic elements have also been added in this track as part of the Jam's challenge. You can hear these immediately with the gameboy squeak and hi-hat rhythms, as well as in the transition melody which connects the different sections of the track.

Sounds great! I really like the percussion and sounds used. I can feel that imminent threat feeling from this track. This was a nice listen!

Thank you Cook! Tried to focus on getting different percussive sounds in a lot and changing rhythm dynamics so glad you liked them!

This is the final song I have to rate before I finish every entry!

I liked how lowkey but still energetic this was! The percussion in the middle section was really nice and the end was my favorite with the really groovy melody and bassline!

great entry!

Thanks very much Jofes - first time I entered a jam so I appreciate it! Started out with that bassline and built the track around that.

Honestly, it's an underrated entry in this jam, the synth choices are pixel perfect. I think it deserves more attention. Looking forward to hearing more of your work in the future! Good job
