Explain your hypothetical game concept & how you interpreted the theme!
Submission consists of four pieces, that somewhat follow the general idea of the Monomyth (as Hero's Journey), with 4th piece capable of also being the very first, thanks to the cyclical nature of the Monomyth.
1 - McGuffin
Within the Cave of Frozen Time, our hero is to obtain McGuffin, that will help defeat the Villain.
This piece explores the Whole Tone scale, which was the challenge for this jam.
2 - Allons-y
This piece accompanies our Hero on his epic journey.
With McGuffin in hand, nothing can stop him... but between the notes of the melody, there lurks a bit of uneasyness.
3 - Confrontation
Time for our Hero to face his adversary.
But - OH NO!
It was a Twist Villain all along!
4 - Homecoming
Very jolly, whimsical theme, that gives off a vibe of a rustical village.
This is the place that our Hero started in, and the place he returned to after defeating the Villain.
What genre is your soundtrack?
Mostly classical, orchestral ensemble, with a (decent) dash of folklore for village theme.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Some more details/thoughts about each piece can be found on project page or SoundCloud description.

Hell yeah! McGuffin was my favourite piece and gave me Core Keeper vibes - huge compliment there, Jonathan Geer is amazing.
The flute was maybe a little too verby, as the tails of notes were overlapping with the next note, but loved it overall!
Homecoming a close second favourite ;)
Thanks - Core Keeper OST is great :D
And yea, I guess I overdid it with the flute track... I wanted to make it more eerie and "cave'y", but I lost the clarity.
Sounds... Irish?)
Cool!
Hah, I wondered whether someone would catch that - especially in the last track where I went with probably the Irishest possible ornamentation :D
Thanks!
good job👍
Thank you :)
This was a really enjoyable set of songs to listen to. Definitely got that fantasy/folklore sound down. My favourite was track 2, Allons-y. I liked all the instruments and sounds you chose, they complimented each other well.
One thing I would suggest is to make each song a little longer! There's so much you can with each one and given less of a time constraint I can see this being fleshed out more into a full soundtrack.
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Allons-y was a tricky one... I had that background idea in 5/4, and it was surprisingly difficult to stack other lines on top of it and not lose the pulse. Looks like I made a somewhat decent job on that :)
As for length, I had ideas for longer tracks, for more tracks, a battle theme for after the Confrontation, two versions of village track, and on and on... but we all need to budget our time. Unfortunately I don't work as efficiently as the pros yet :D
Nevertheless, I agree - they could use a few bars more.
