I am a Hobbyist, been at it (game development) for just under a year now.

Not entirely sure which categories this excludes me from, except ragdolls and art?
- I used a number of Kenney's assets in order to finish on time.

I enjoyed playing GG ,  gave me old school icy-towers feeling

Cool idea, and I love how springy and squishy the snail feels!

My main comment/criticism would be that it's very tricky to fling the little dude when he is on the ground! Which is most of the time.

Some sound would add a lot, and maybe an intro splash screen that shows how the fling mechanic works (took me a while to figure it out).  But I'm sure you would've gotten to that with a bit more time.

But the game works, I think it could be a fun score attack game with a bit more polish!

Would be cool if there was a goal or something at the top or maybe even a hi score system since you have points. Its a fun concept but maybe there could of been more content like upgrades to use points on. Nice work!

Neat idea - got it to shoot once - lol - that was fun - Well done

It's a good thing these invaders did not bring any NaCl with them!

Two ways to easily (I think) improve this experience would be to add explosion sounds and to raise the ground a little bit because launching from the ground (with the mouse not being able to pull further down) can be a bit of a pain.

There's something about this gameplay mechanic that has a ton of potential (I might just take it on one day).

Nice entry.

I like the other-worldly nature of destroying UFOs as a snail.

I found it quite difficult to destroy those UFOs accurately because of the wobbles in the movement after releasing myself. I felt like I was able to aim quite accurately but then launching would quite different from my aimed direction and I would miss my targets.

The progression of floating background things in the background to show height came out really great, and the number of UFOs made combo hits go off nicely, which is always a lot of fun.

I had some issues where I don't go into the shell quickly enough after shooting or something (or maybe it's just that the gravity pulls down the upwards velocity so fast he unshells again?), such that I struggled to destroy any UFOs from below at all, unless I'm bouncing off destroying another. So I had to always do a sideways or downwards attack to ensure I destroy them.

I'm also not sure how the scoring worked. I see there's a multiplier, but it seems to just always go up to 2 and then stay there for the rest of the time. (Also didn't notice it at first; a "10" or whatever popping up in the explosion might sell that more?)

Also, I feel like we talked about this in early playtests and there was a reason this couldn't be done, but having the mouse go back to the centre when the player clicks would have been very helpful. I kept going off the sides of my screen, such that I couldn't always make full stretches.

Anyway -- this came out great! There's a great satisfaction in chaining a bunch of UFO destructions, and a nice sense of upwards progress. Now you just need something at the top!
