  • Once I got the hang of this, I found solving each puzzle really satisfying! I'd request a little more guidance for the player initially and some more varied music. Great job! Very on theme

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
The game is an 8x8 isometric grid game about an evil alien goo taking over the world. It's your job to eliminate all goo from each of 6 levels.

To do that, you need to use your Toolbox of Tools (top left of the screen) to interact with the tiles. Then hit the EXECUTE button to see if you did enough. This will run the scenario and if all goo is eliminated, then you win! Otherwise, you lose and can try again.

Goo can be destroyed by water and fire, so harnessing these elements in each scenario can help you out!

It is a tricky puzzle game, and so there are a limited number of ways to win a scenario. If it seems impossible, just try stuff! Some things interact with each other in unexpected (but sensible!) ways.

Thanks for taking the time to play my game <3

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Extra Notes
The game is made in Phaser, so it runs in the browser and is not downloadable. I hope that is ok?! I think it is perhaps safer than downloading an executable anyway.

I sat and played this until I beat it, that last level broke my brain but I got it eventually. Well done, a great idea well executed!

Developer

Ah amazing! Well done on finishing it, and thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you had fun! :)

Isometric, tile based are always cool to play, it would be nice to have a way to identify which tile interact with each possible action. Really nice game :D

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, some sort of highlighting when an action is selected would do it. Thanks for checking out the game!

Always liked the concept of games where you set up the initial state and let it simulate - this is a cool implementation of that idea!

Developer

Thanks! Initially, I was going to have it turn-based, allowing the player to perform one action per round and then simulate one step, but it was a bit slow and you missed out on seeing everything play out. I much prefer this way, but it does make the puzzles a lot more difficult because you have to predict that much further ahead.

Nice puzzle game. Level 3 had me for a bit, 4 was way easier, then 5 im stuck on...back later.

Very cool simple spreading idea.

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! Yeah, I hadn't thought of potentially swapping 3 or 4. There's definitely room for a few more upskilling levels from 3 onwards. 5 and 6 would definitely be towards the end of a scenario/campaign. But with a bit of out-of-the-box thinking, it's doable :)

I like the puzzle concept, but I'm not sure what to do with the diggers.  I can't seem to get the water close enough to the goo.

Great art style and a neat puzzle game concept!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I think I know which level you're talking about... The digger can be used in unexpected places! (Try it on forest or even shield tiles!) Every level can be solved but the last few are quite devious!
