  • After reading your GDD, the amount of thought that went into the planning and development this is extremely impressive, a really clever interpretation of the theme! I'm sure the introductory part you mention will help to bring context to the game. I like the idea of you as the player are providing the light to the surrounding areas, but going in blind, it feels quite basic. There is no indication in game that the E key heals you, just the progress bar. Additionally, I didn't find anything other than the boss at the centre of the hexagon - I think they were meant to drop something? Really nice start though, and I'm sorry to see that you ran out of time. I think that this game is really promising. Really clever ideas for continuation in your GDD, I'm excited to see where this goes!

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?

Story, Controls and Goal can be found in our description. The main meat of our idea, theme interpretation, and mechanics we didn't have time to add are all found on our GDD. Please take the time to read through it.

Extra Notes
We severely over-scoped this project and I (King_H) take responsibility for that. I assumed the leadership role for this project and didn't properly account for the availability and experience of my team. I learned a lot, and I can only hope that everyone else on my team learned something from this project too, even if it didn't quite pan out how we had envisioned it.

Fun gameplay and good 3d environment art!

I love the atmosphere, dynamic lighting and fog! especially when the player dies, it's a great effect!
