- Overall a pretty solid game. Would have liked more mechanical aspects related to the theme. If you change the enemies to anything else it doesn't really change the game at all, so it's a bit of a loose interpretation. The same goes for calling your protagonist an alchemist, because he doesn't really do anything related to alchemy. The game ran smooth though, hitboxes were good, level design was not too bad, and it was a fairly enjoyable short game.

The Light Alchemist is a top-down shooter where you play an alchemist that leaves his home city to track down where an overwhelming force of shadow goblins has appeared from. The kingdom is in trouble and all efforts have failed so far. Will you be able to reach the cave?

Your game was really satisfying to play. Nice submission!
The AI is so smart given the length of this jam! Well done!
Thank you for playing my game! I'm glad the AI was engaging for you. I have so much more in mind on improving it
The art is great, it was fun reaching the cave!
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you had fun!
I really liked the atmosphere and particles for shooting! I felt the game was rather easy because the map is kinda crammed and feels like corridors so enemies can't really attack. I think filling the map with more open spaces or making enemies collide just with walls would help reduce this issue. But besides that great job!
Thanks for the feedback! Somehow I hadn't thought of letting the enemies pass over the obstacles easier. I wanted to give the player a way to defend from the ranged enemies because they can become overwhelming, so the tighter corridors were my first solution.
This was a great little shooter! The art was beautiful, the music and sound effects added a lot, and I thought the difficulty was balanced well. I liked that the map had more hidden side paths that had mushrooms for me to sneak back to when I got overwhelmed. Nice work!
Thank you for playing and leaving a comment! I'm so happy to hear the difficulty was balanced for you, I was really unsure of how to allow players the chance to adapt - I've been getting so used to playing it after all the work done to it
