  • Love the game name alliteration. Great sound design! The potion keeper characters are well developed. Love the joke with the second one about being stronger to get those. I enjoy a good poetic narrative line like that. Great use of a shadowy dungeon and potions to affect character abilities. I only found potions after I died once. Not sure if that was intentional, but seems like something you'd want to change.

A top down dungeon crawler where you'll be balancing benefits and drawbacks of shady potions to clear 3 stages and 3 bosses. Good luck!

I really dig the concept of this and love the NPCs in the potion room! Each character feels really unique and has interesting design! The writing was also good for their dialogue. With the gameplay, I also really like the tradeoff that each potion has to impact gameplay.

My one critique is I think you could lower the difficulty a bit to make it easier to complete the game in one sitting. The reset from level 1 felt a bit harsh, especially since there were some one-hit-kill mechanics at play. I would have kept trying to beat the game if I could have continued the level I died in.

Overall, a solid start with a lot of interesting choices for the player to make with their potion arsenal, even though I only used the starter potions. Good music, art, and atmosphere with a lot of enemy designs filling the dungeons. Nice job!

I really liked the pixel art and music choices. Would have loved some more sound effects. I didn't find any potions in my run, so I felt like I was gimped. Due to the slowness and cooldowns of blocks and attacks, I pretty much spent all my time kiting everything, which made the boss trivial, but made projectile enemies really tough, especially since their bullets were going through walls. I ended up falling down a pit I didn't know was a pit in stage 2. I also would have appreciated a vulnerability timer for a split second after block expires and I'm getting hit by multiple enemies, because your block can be consumed and then multiple other attacks can proc damage. It wasn't always easy to see attack animations so it was hard to time all of that perfectly, so some grace for mistakes is a big help to noobs like me.
