- Clever puzzles that kept me engaged. The shadow realm is where things got a little confusing and hectic. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing and had to do a lot of guessing. I would like to see more clarity on how the shadow realm works. There were some issues where the game would lag when casting a spell, but that evened out in level 2.

Tell us about your game!
This game is about the player puzzling their way through graveyards in an overpopulated and overcrowded city. Your boss is cutting corners and needs you to combine some of the bodies into the same graves to make room. In trying to make space for more graves, they must combine the plots of unsuspecting dead people, but doing so creates a butterfly effect of events in the Underworld where the souls of these dead people exist. At night, when you go to sleep, you must face the consequences of your actions!
Phase 1: A puzzle game where the player must shift graves around a graveyard to merge some graves together. The blocks are constrained by the density of the yard and inhibit movement.
Phase 2: Bullet-hell combat where the player must combine elements to create powerful spells.
Controls:
WASD to move
Shift to grab blocks
F to read gravestones
Left Mouse Button to bonk the enemy with your wand
Right Mouse Button to shoot spells

This was a bit brutal :D Lots going on for a jam game - you've got pleasant art, voice acting (!!!), different gameplays... LOTS!
I liked the flip-flop between action sequences and slower-paced puzzle ones; although I proved too dense to crack the "other solution" for Level 3, unfortunately :D The bullet-hell felt a bit too chaotic, but that's probably due to time constraints of the jam. The "push/pull" sokobans are the best sokobans, of course, so big points there :)
I think that there's enough of an idea and skeleton here for a post-jam pass - I feel like this could be made into a full game. The core systems that are already in are in a very playable state, just need tuning, better tutorial/introduction than list of combinations in game's description, and with some effort put in I can see it asking money in stores, totally deserves that.
Thank you for the high praise!
love the exaggerated long and explicit name, really cool concept, i particularly "digged" the graveyard puzzle component, the hints during combat were a great add on, congratulations!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This was neat, I would play more if it was only the puzzler side of things and not the combat/alchemy game mode. I think I would have appreciated a top-down or orthographic perspective in the bullet-hell phase, it was tricky to navigate with the perspective used in the game
Thanks for playing! We spent a lot more time on the puzzle mechanics, and we had a lot more planned for combat but it got out of scope, I'm glad you liked the game!
It took me a few minutes to figure out what I was supposed to move and where to move it during the first level. But once I got the hang of it, it was a blast to play. The puzzles were challenging and made me think. The voice acting was a really nice addition too!
Nice entry!
Thank you! We'll definitely do better with tutorial stuff next time but I'm glad you figured it out and had fun!
One of the best game names I've seen here hahahaha
Can you explain how the grab block mechanic works, all I can get is the graves to do a little jiggle :(
I really wanna read more graves!
Sure! If you hold "shift" when you're facing a grave, tombstone, or sarcophagus you can drag or push them.
Ohhhh I was trying to move the rocks hahahahah
Now what am I aiming for on the first level!
The cross grave and the tombstone are combineable graves, so just move the sarcophagus out of the way :)
ohhhhh I'm actually so dumb hahahahh thanks!!
We could have done better for the "tutorial" - don't worry! :)
I hope you have fun!
GDD is in the description on the game page, but posting it again here for redundancy: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZvSyVWv-hXsr8rBkLbSWLnZLpQ3uiX1U4s4ogW7Tvek/...
