  • I find the gameplay compelling, but I think since it's so simple some more effects on the attacks would do it good. The the shadow bit could be a little bit better incorporated in some way. loved the artstyle.

I was very impressed by your entry!  The gameplay was novel and solid overall.  The sprites are well done, and there are a surprising number of ingredients.  I liked the idea of the encroaching shadow and corruption of ingredients, although I couldn't tell exactly what effect that had on things.  I was a bit overwhelmed with the number of recipes, and more often than not I just threw random things into my cauldron.  I think that with a little polish this could be a very cool game!

Great game! Tonssss of recipes which was really cool, but a little overwhelming. It was hard to memorize the combos since the ingredients were RNG, so less chances to 'practice' brewing the spells I wanted to get. I mostly brewed whatever I was given and it seemed to serve me well enough. I had my fill after the Dracula fight, that would have been a great final boss for this!

Really nice graphics, sound, and well made gameplay loop with a well polished menu system. I appreciated the recipe book!

Cool game, I particularly like the visuals, they have a very classic tactics game feel to them. The design of the main character is pretty creative too. I think it could probably be improved by the ingredients having slightly more predictable results: for example, I combined 2 turtle shell ingredients and I would have expected that to create a defence potion, but it did something else instead, though that is pretty subjective criticism. I think a full game could lean into the impending Darkness more, perhaps allowing the cauldron to move around the level and have to play around the dark tiles. Good overall though, one of my favourite games visually that I've played!

Loved the graphic a lot, and the CRT effect is just brilliant. Wonder why it is not enabled by default.

The concept is really interesting, but I am having a hard time remembering what each ingredient is, it would be nice to have some more information on screen to let me make informed decisions.

But overall you've done a pretty good job making the game that good. Well done!

Beautiful looking game, reminds me of 'Into the Breach'!

At first I thought it was going to be hard to pick up but the game eases in perfectly for difficulty! Amazed you got so much done in 2 weeks :)

Fun strategy game, I really like the old school art style. CRT ON.

Note: The ingredients have different types and their type is used for the recipe, but it can be hard to tell which type the ingredient is. If the ingredients were more clearly typed it would make crafting easier to understand.

One other thing, the corrupted ingredients can be a little hard to see in the corruption.

Great game overall!
