  • This is a cute and fun addition to the horde battle game. For what you have here it's interesting and engaging. I would love to see the addition of more abilities to help protect the hag from the shadow. Maybe he can upgrade himself to be more effective. Really fun interpretation of the theme as well. Good job!

WHAT IS KALEIDOKILL?
KALEIDOKILL is a fast-paced, cartoony survival horde battler where you take control of a hag's shadow. Help the witch murder and absorb space critters known as Kaleido, growing stronger through color mixing and the power of alchemy.

WASD (OR ARROW KEYS) - Movement

INTERPRETATION OF THEME
KALEIDOKILL was made and submitted as part of the 15th Pirate Software Jam. The theme for this jam was "Shadows & Alchemy." Inspired by this theme, the duo at Hangover Sunshine explored the two themes more literally. By making the player a shadow that must stay within a certain distance of their host and by including a cauldron that allows the character to combine and transform themselves into a stronger being through alchemy, the game captures the spirit of the jam.

Love the visuals. Clean and vibrant. In the future you could maybe add some animations to the story in the beginning to make it more engaging. You could maybe increase the damage a bit more. Seems like I always full on health. Loved the game !!!!

Great art and music, but if it comes to difficulty for me hags health never dropped below 80% and everytime i felt cornered i would just spill the cauldron (is there any limit on it?) It seems to be to overpowered.

Thanks for much for giving our game a shot! We'll look into balancing difficulty a bit more. We were concerned the game was too challenging before submitting and it looks like we may have made it waaaay too easy. The cauldron takes away experience and levels that you have accumulated overtime (impacting your total end score by making it lower). The idea we had is if you used it too much, you will eventually run out of uses because you won't have enough minimum levels and experience needed to spill it. Seems like we may need to make it more impactful of a tradeoff with each use.
