- I love these types of games for the simple fact of being able to grow and manage something while also taking your time at it. When I started the game I did not expect to be able to choose from so many different options and customizable things for my character. I was a bit overwhelmed at first so I just hit random until I got a strawberry on my character and rolled with it. The music was light and gave such a nice vibe to the gameplay itself. I found that the game was lacking a tutorial of some sort to tell me what to do but I eventually got into a groove and got going. When I hit the market though I was unsure of what to do or how to set my prices. I set it too high and scrambled to set it lower and figured it out after missing 1 or 2 customers but that is ok because I got to sell all of my wheat and started the next weeks cycle. I also enjoyed that the upgrades were level based from just doing things and effected the tools. I do want to say that I noticed you added a language changer in the menu and even though that it is such a small detail I bet it will help someone down the line and is awesome that you took the time to do so.

Summarise your game!
Grow It Yourself is a casual farming game where you transform into farming tools to grow crops throughout the week and sell them at the market.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You transform into the tools you need to tend your crops. You are the tool (weapon).

Cute game! I love how selecting different farming implements transforms you into them haha. The music & SFX are nice and omg the localisation options are crazy! Really nicely done with that!
The controls were really intuitive and I didn't have any problem picking up the mechanics. The day/night cycle looks great- if I were to add anything, it might be to tinge the dusk/dawn period slightly orange, to add a lil sumthin to the vibe.
I didn't exactly feel like the GTM speed was too slow, but my take on it is a little like how people think elevators are too slow when actually they're happy if it's got a mirror in it. Maybe if some farm animals meandered around the paddock and got in the way, or if NPCs came by to check up on you or see if you need any equipment, could be fun?
Overall, very cozy and cute! Please keep going and send me a DM on Bluesky when you're ready for more playtesting, I'll happily record my experience and share my thoughts. 💥
Thank you so much! This is some really insightful feedback! We were actually planning on adding farm animals, but the dusk and sunrise and also the NPCs coming to check up on you are really nice ideas!! We would be more than glad to invite you for future playtest sessions!
Again thank you so much 🦔
I think you need to reduce the time to market. I didn't understand at first that i needed to fill the seed bag. When i got to market i didn't understand i was setting the price, so i set it high and nobody bought anything. And it took me a long time to get to that point. Looks like this game was a lot of work tho, you should be proud of it. Good job!!!
Thank you so much!! We ended up not having much time for game balancing, so this sort of feedback really helps! Our goal is also to add a tutorial post-gamejam to explain the core mechanics better.
