  • This is a good start to what could potentially be a great game! It's a bit big in terms of scope for this gamejam, and one can tell when looking at your GDD. There are loads of ideas, but no clear structure or timeline on when and how to accomplish them. The game itself is really cool. I like the sprites you have created, I like the idea (although the tie in to the theme is more story-based than in another form, and there is no story apart from what you wrote in the GDD or submission page...). I wanted to try to turn all my buddies into archers, to see what would happen, but the game crashed before that. (Sadge). A mini map would be useful, especially to know where you have been, and what there is to explore. There is a lot to expand (other types of buddies, how to get more of them, more resources, different type of enemy attacks, attacks on the ship itself, upgrades, types of weapons for the ship, etc...) Keep working on this idea if you want, it has a lot of potential!

Mix of strategy and action.

Premise. You're an enchanted sentient flying ship sent by witches guild to possess the Enfir Heart - the source of life in a newly reborn world.

Controls are very RTS-like. Right click to move, left click on an ability to use. Or use hotkeys for abilities, etc. Tutorial is integrated in the ui, don't worry 😉

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The witches guild directly uses you for one purpose. You are their weapon.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?

I really like your rts style controls and the enemy ai is pretty solid! My main crits are that the hints are at the right, not the left, hehe, and that the place buddy/pickup buddy switch doesn't seem to be intuitive to switch. i have to move my ship first to reliably switch to box pickup mode.

Omg that typo was made minutes before the jam finished and now I can't do anything with it  (╥_╥)  XD

To place or pickup your crew you have to fly close enough to a drop/pickup point. If you're too far, the game creates drop/pickup markers which will trigger drop or pickup as you fly closer. I agree this wasn't communicated in tutorial, my bad. Thanks for your feedback!

ahaha the typos will really get ya. Oh but to clarify, my ship was right on top of them on the island- i was just drawing circles by clicking and dragging repeatedly even with all duded deployed, i had to slightly nudge my ship to get the drag box to pick up instead of the circle. cheers!

All my buddies died to the green bug things.  I got an archer but he didn't stand a chance

You're giving the player a lot of mechanics to learn at once. It's a little overwhelming. I can see you tried to add a bit of a tutorial but after i pressed start I wasn't sure wht to do. Looks like a lot work went into it tho, keep making games!
