- Thanks for you entry into the game jam! I had a smashing good time with this one! Amazing concept, intro and execution! I really got into character with the boulder! THis has indian jones meets rampage vibes and you executed it brillantly. Art style is great and perfect for the game play and controls. Music and sound design was super fitting to the vibe and style as well! Controls worked exactly as instructed. Gun shots felt good and were on target. Momentum was felt and overall great to the difficult. Ui was clean and efficient both during play and menu/end screen displays. This is a really solid entry that is full package featured. Great work!
- Congrats on the great job! I had a lot of fun with the game, it was rock solid. The intro cutscene was just amazing. Not only really funny but very well executed. It's crazy that you got something like that done within a jam deadline. The mechanics work super well, every time I died it was clearly a case of needing to get good. The art style is nice and worked super well for the game idea. There are 2 things I would suggest to improve, especially if you decide to continue the development of the game: Juiciness and a more in-depth GDD. Juiciness: Especially since the game has few mechanics, you are going to want to make sure that these feel great to the player. The main way to do this is adding a lot of feedback when actions and interactions happen. These can come in a mix of particles, sounds effects, outlines, object or camera shake, object distortion. GDD: Remember that the GDD is not a task that has to be done before or after the development, it is an important first step of development itself. Other than being part of this jam's submission, the reason why it's important to create a solid GDD is because there is a lot of value during making a game to have a clear reference of goals, inspirations, what are you trying to achieve, mechanics and interactions. Especially when in a team, it makes communication easier, reduces doubt, and makes for less reiterations needed. It is not meant to be a presentation piece, but a source of truth for the developers, it's what should drive your decisions. Impressive work, keep it up!

I loved rolling over the people. So fun!!
I had quite some fun playing your game, good job! I think the basic premise is quite good, though I'd say the gameplay suffers a little bit when the priorities are conflicted. For example, should we be prioritising kill all people first and rolling down second? Should we roll down safely or should we go quick? This in my opinion what Sonic the Hedgehog games suffer the most, where you can't really have fun doing one thing but ignore the others entirely. I guess one way to fix it is to put the people in a good spot where if you roll correctly you should able to hit all / most of them, that way you got the enjoyment of a good rolling without making the player feel bad missing a bunch of them.
Anyway, enough said. I still think you did quite a good job making this game, so don't worry too much. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the play and feedback! I agree we needed to polish the flow, especially in the later levels. Unfortunately, “balancing” was a low priority. Glad you enjoyed it :)
This game is a lot of fun. I really like squishing all the people and the addition of the gun is great. I think it might be good to pull the camera back a bit cuz it's kinda hard to see what's coming once you get moving fast in the later levels. Great job on this tho I had a lot of fun murdering all the people as a rock.
Good game, I likes rock
Good game, I like your background, music and fun gameplay
Fun game!! The intro is telling me you're too young for the 40 years old Boulder Dash to have inspired the name, so well done on the name, too!! https://boulder-dash.com/
Feels really polished, nice work
Smashing them all is so satisfying! I really enjoyed the intro—it’s funny and sets the tone well. The only issue I had was with the camera; I’m not sure why, but it made me feel a bit dizzy after awhile.
Thank you! Ya the camera movement was a last minute decision to get a better view behind you. Unfortunately, I didn’t get time to smooth it out / linger, so it’s a bit snappy. Thanks for playing :)
Yo this game is heckin SICK
