GDD:
Document seems good.
Perhaps add some images / gifs on the mechanics, UI or art section, so it gives more context. A image tells a 1000 words after all.
Very good to add an development timeline to showcase the game's state and progress.
Game:
It is like tetris, DNA and "roguelike" has a baby.
I like it a lot.
I think the game would benefits a lot if there was a setting for no timer.
Also I would like to see a speedup button during auto battle.
The game feels really well done. I managed to reach "you win" screen, but I think it would be more fun if it had a endless run. Perhaps leaning into the absurd builds and parameters that could evolve over the game.

Yes
Summarise your game!
Bacteria Battles is a top-down auto-battler about genetically engineering a potent microscopic bio-weapon by modifying your genetic code to defeat other, increasingly deadly microorganisms.
It is an auto-battler with a puzzle twist. The game alternates between a block placing puzzle section that increases the stats of your bacteria and a auto-battler section where your bacteria fights to survive.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You play as a bio-weapon bacteria that is genetically engineering itself to fight against other bacteria to become the ultimate bio-weapon.
