I got stuck there. The concept and the overall atmosphere is very interesting and I love the art ! Not a big fan of the sounds but this could easily be fixed with a bit more time.

Also next time, just put all the game files in a single .zip file and tell itch.io the game is downloadable on Windows, it will be much easier to play your game !

Wow I absolutely adore this one! I somehow didn't notice it when first glancing over the jam submissions but I'm glad I looked over them again because this one was fantastic.

The pixel art is wonderful and I love how aggressive the monsters are, it makes the idea of making noise absolutely dreadful which is exactly how it should be so fantastic work on that!

You mention a need for level design tips so I will definitely say that the level design is limited by the lack of extra mechanics. Leaving the player with just movement controls and an obstacle avoid can only create so much variation. Consider adding new mechanics as the game progresses, a great example is how you added a throwable item towards the end, do more like that and just keep expanding until you find yourself with a complete game.

I think I have a new personal favorite of the one's I've played for this jam. I'm very excited to see your future work!

Loved this one. It was really engaging taking a moment to parse each room before moving forward with it. And while jumpscares like the one in the game aren't everyone's cup of tea, I liked it!

I also appreciate how you implemented coyote frames for the platforming! I don't normally expect a QoL thing like that from a game jam entry, so I was pleasantly surprised.

This game is actually really good! The concept is really neat and i didn't expect a horror game for this jam, art is pretty and sounds are on point, so... for the level design tips:

-The levels are too straight, maybe add some elements to make it less point a to point b, like having to collect a key to open the door.

-The insta kill by too much noises is good, but it can limit level design because of the limited movement, maybe some levels don't need to have that and focus more on the enemy variety, maybe have one like the ghost from mario, maybe have one that goes directly at you but you use that pick up item that generates noises and it goes there instead to you.

-Hiding spots are a must have in any horror game right?

-Also a dark level with a flashlight could introduce light phobic monsters.

In the last level the player overlapped by the door, so i think there's a problem with image depths there.

Good job at finishing the game on time!

I have to say, I absolutely love this little game! The mechanics are really cool and fit perfectly with the theme of the jam. The art style is also fantastic, adding to the overall charm. And let's talk about that jumpscare! While, in my opinion, it may have been a bit too intense, it genuinely caught me off guard and gave me a good fright the first time through! ( I cant sleep now ;-;)

The only critique I have is regarding the platforming aspect. Some parts of it felt overly difficult or frustrating, which impacted my overall enjoyment to a certain extent. However, despite this minor setback, the game is still great! I thoroughly enjoyed sneaking around and trying to avoid making noise to peeve those demon things off haha! It's a super fun mechanic that adds a unique layer of excitement. Overall, splendid job! a lot of potential ^^
