Story Mode mostly works now minus some crashes but there's still many bugs, such as sometimes pico just standing in the void when dying

If you look closely the animation isn't completely black, that means there's just a random moving colored box in the Game Over! It's not too bad but once you notice it you cannot unsee it (at least for me)

also I made a vid to show other stuff like sometimes the intro music Looping, along with Nene's Speaker still not working, plus the visual Game Over Bug

Glad to see how dedicated you are though! your team I know is working hard to patch and work on the game, so keep up and hope this can help you patch out more stuff :D

ok, I did the restart of the song when I first boot into week 2 which worked?

idk how but yea, I tried with the rest and no dice

still such a bugged update :(

hope it gets patched

really?? Week 2 works for you?

huh mine just completely broken, minus tutorial which makes sense since it's like one song but yea

AHHH! I hate to be mean, I know a lot of work has been going into this but this update made the game unplayable literally! ALL OF STORY MODE IS BROKEN! You cant get passed Song 1 without it crashing, (I assume due to the results screen not working or something else) and since the new week isnt playable in freeplay, I can't hear the new stuff :(
I would've waited for you guys more to patch what was going on here, cause this is a big disappointment after literally years of waiting...

Also Nene's speaker does nothing? like it looks like it's supposed to be a song visualizer but she just is stuck doing this with nothing playing on the visualizer itself....
hope this all get patched soon

I really love the charm of this game! and the music slaps really well! love the mix up on the classic Parappa formula by having supports and the DJ parts, gives some extra depth! my main issue with the game is bugs.

I have a few screenshots but accidentally hitting both retry and continue on the result screen will completely bug the hell out of the game! not only will the stage just be broken, the pause menu and UI will just not work, also the story mode text is just there lol. Also I had to force shut down the game as trying to use any button wouldn't work on the "bugged" result screen! also moments I clipped through trees outside the map and fell through. Has to just reset the game

really sucks cause I love the style, music and gameplay even! just the game is heavily weighed down right now with bugs :( easy 7/10 for now

hope the final release will iron them out, cause this could be an amazing rhythm game to rival the big guys! truly a fun and charming game!

wish I could play but it seems that you're missing the data for the game itself, which is sad, I truly hope once you can to upload the entire thing so I can play it! but for  now can't really say much sorry :(

This game has quickly become one of my favorite entries due to its simplicity and silliness. It reminds me of the old Dreamcast virtual pet simulator, Seaman, where you raised a sentient fish-man creature using a microphone. This game evokes similar vibes with its bizarre creatures that you can talk to, and the concept of them learning from your speech is a cool mechanic that leads to chaotic fun!

However, if I'm being honest, as entertaining as it is to mess around with the creature heads, I wish there were more activities to engage with. Adding mini-games to help raise and evolve the creatures would have added depth and longevity to the gameplay. Additionally, implementing a cooldown system or introducing resource management, such as providing limited food or water, could have introduced consequences and challenges to the gameplay experience.

Overall, this game showcases a truly unique idea with its entertaining and peculiar concepts. I genuinely hope you consider expanding it further because it has the potential to become an even more enjoyable and wonderfully weird gem. Keep up the great work!

This game shows promise, considering it was created from a newbie dev! However, there are a few areas that could be improved. It would have been beneficial to discourage mindlessly mashing the space bar by implementing a cooldown or energy mechanic. Additionally, having a health system for the player would have made the game less frustrating, as accidental collisions with enemies resulted in instant death! also for tight spaces or buttons placed in a linear hallway! >:(

Implementing a radial echolocation mechanic, even if it didn't reveal the entire visible block, could have added an extra layer of depth. I understand that time constraints may have limited what could be achieved within the time limit so I will cut some slack!

Overall, this game is already pretty cool, and I appreciate your efforts, especially as a new game developer. The art style and animations are impressive, particularly the charming cartoon design of the bat and monsters. The strategic element of luring the monsters away from the button was enjoyable, although incorporating an attack or dash mechanic could have enhanced interactivity.

Keep up the good work and continue exploring new possibilities in your future projects! ^^

This game is truly unique, and I appreciate the idea and the implementation of the theme. The art style is also impressive, even if it's premade assets. It still adds to the overall appeal. Additionally, the sneaking mechanic gives me a classic Metal Gear feel, which is nostalgic and enjoyable.

However, I do have a complaint regarding the sneaking mechanic. It feels almost impossible to successfully sneak past enemies, mainly due to the size of the echos and the lack of depth perception to identify enemy positions. Moreover, the hiding into my rock form rarely works, as I often end up getting detected or glitching out when enemies push me into walls. Like others have mentioned, this issue forced me to resort to running through everything to win, which is unfortunate and takes away from the intended stealth experience.

Overall, good job on the game! I hope you consider coming back to improve on this project because I see a lot of potential in it. Addressing the issues with the stealth mechanics and fine-tuning the gameplay would greatly enhance the overall experience. Keep up the good work!

Holy moly, this is hands down an underrated entry and easily one of the best ones in the competition! Everything about it is near perfection!! The theme is incorporated amazingly well, and the unique concept and mechanics are both intriguing and captivating. I absolutely love how the music gradually fades after each bounce, creating an immersive atmosphere. ^^

The art style is really nice too, although I did notice that some assets clash a bit due to the lack of defined outlines. However, that's more of a nitpick and doesn't significantly affect the overall experience.

If I were to be picky, I would mention that controlling the note could be a bit challenging at times, especially when trying to hit the old grandpa or the better cafe people due to the limited space of the hole. I would recommend either slightly increasing the size of the hole to strike a balance between challenge and frustration or adjusting the movement of the note to make it slightly easier to control. That being said, considering this is your first game, it's still amazing! I see immense potential in your work.

Please consider expanding this into a bigger project! I would wholeheartedly pay for a full version with a story and everything because this game is a splendid and wholesome experience. Amazing work! :D

This game is very simple, but it's decent overall. I appreciate the striking and unique art style, which brings back nostalgic vibes. The idea behind the game is also quite cool and intriguing.

However, my biggest issue with the game is how confusing everything is. I struggled to fully grasp the theme because there wasn't a clear visual 'echo' effect or indication of what to do. The lack of guidance, especially considering the size of the map, made it difficult for me to understand my objectives. It would have been helpful to have a tutorial or clearer instructions.

Overall, the game has a nice concept, but personally, it left me confused and frustrated. I do hope you continue working on the project to improve it significantly. As a first attempt, it shows promise, but it requires more polish and explanation to enhance the player experience. Despite the confusion, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Keep up the good work.

This is a really good and simple game! However, my main issue lies in the sad lack of the finished echo mechanics. The concept of the echo mechanic is really cool, but it's unfortunate that it wasn't fully implemented. Without its completion, I find it difficult to rate the game more positively. Nonetheless, the gameplay is simple yet fun, and it provides an enjoyable experience.

One area where the game could have improved is in the inclusion of music or sounds. Adding audio elements would have enhanced the overall enjoyment and experience.

Overall, this is a decent game, especially considering it's your first project. It shows promise, and I encourage you to keep going with your development. It would be great to see how the game evolves and incorporates the intriguing echo mechanics in the future. Good job!

This is a simple yet fun rhythm game that offers a unique and enjoyable experience. It gives me some WarioWare vibes with its clashing art style, and that's definitely a positive aspect. I particularly love the music and the laser pointing mechanic, which adds to the overall fun factor.

If I had to point out a concern, the biggest issue for me lies in the somewhat confusing core mechanics. There were moments where I felt like I nailed the rhythm, but I ended up getting a peeved cat, which left me confused. Initially, I thought the colors were indicators, but then I accidentally hit it when it turned yellow, and it worked, while other times it didn't. The only time I consistently felt like I nailed it was when it turned blue. This inconsistency in the mechanics made the main game confusing to me.

I understand that I might not be the most skilled gamer, so it's possible that it's just me struggling with the mechanics. However, personally, I found the core game mechanics confusing.

Overall, it's still a good game, and I appreciate its charm. I hope you consider expanding it into a bigger project because there's definite potential here. Good job!

Wow, this game is truly amazing! As someone who loves FPS games like Doom, this little gem hits all the right notes. It's a charming and bizarre experience with the chaos and concept of fighting EVIL letters, which adds to its uniqueness!

The combo system in the game is a banger, and the gradual gun upgrades provide a simple yet enjoyable progression. The mechanics and chaos in the gameplay are simply mind-blowing. And let's talk about the music—it's absolutely perfect! It sets the tone and enhances the overall experience.

I must mention that the AI is nearly perfect, except for "C" who tends to stand motionless at times, making them easy kills. However, apart from that minor issue, everything else about the AI is amazing. And to think this game was made in just three days? It's truly impressive!

If I had to be more critical, I would say that the map feels unfinished. It's evident that it's template stuff, and that takes away a bit from the overall experience. Additionally, I understand what you mean about the games theme, though imo it doesn't really fit "echos". However, this doesn't bother me much because, in terms of quality and creativity, this is undoubtedly one of the best entries. The fact that you managed to create multiple AI characters and implement various mechanics in just three days is commendable.

Overall, amazing work! I genuinely hope you continue working on this game after the voting period because I would happily pay for a full version. It has the potential to become something truly special. Keep up the great work!

Let me start by saying that this entry took me a bit longer to review... because I couldn't stop playing it! :D

It's easily one of the most impressive and better entries of the jam. Everything about it is near perfection! The simple yet complex system implemented here is incredibly fun and challenging, and the upgrading system is a neat addition. The tutorial provided is simple and effective, allowing me to easily grasp the mechanics compared to just guessing and finding out on my own haha. (though I wish it had something to make it easier to learn but that'll be for later)

While I'm not the biggest fan of AI artwork, it works well within the context of this game. Considering the time crunch and the direction you took, it's completely understandable, and overall, the visual experience is quite nice!

If I had to nitpick, I would suggest having the tutorial as an interactive button rather than a splash image. This would allow players to learn faster and refer back to it if needed. Additionally, introducing some extra variety, such as range enemies or new types, could add more diversity to the gameplay. However, these suggestions are minor because, honestly, for a game developed in just three days, this entry is incredibly impressive!

Regarding the theme, I understand what you mean. It's a bit of a stretch from 'echos,' and it doesn't fit the theme too well in my opinion. Nevertheless, this doesn't detract from the fact that it's a great game. It showcases impressive skills and delivers an enjoyable experience.

Overall, despite the minor nitpicks and the theme aspect, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I highly encourage you to continue working on it because there is so much potential here. Best of luck and wishes to you! Great job!"

oh wow! same here! (at least solo wise haha) and yeah 3 days is like no time, so I fully get it haha (I legit had little sleep the entire time and submitted with like roughly12ish minutes left O.o)

good luck with your bug fix/patch, def gonna try it out again once it comes ^^

oh wow! same here! (at least solo wise haha) and yeah 3 days is like no time, so I fully get it haha (I legit had little sleep the entire time and submitted with like roughly12ish minutes left O.o)

good luck with your bug fix/patch, def gonna try it out again once it comes ^^

Thank you for your feedback! I'm really glad you found it impressive! and yeah I get why, the idea was actually inspired by well...dodgeball! like back in school playing that game in the gym the loud echoing of the ball hitting walls really inspired my idea for the theme! However sadly due to crunch time (you can see where I rushed, via lack of animations for characters and the "echos" being bugged) and because I didn't get the time to add a more "echoy" effect to really emphasize it it didn't really work as I liked! Def gonna try to make a big patch after the voting and adventure jam I'm doing haha!

Thank you again! I'm excited to polish this way more and make it a more better product! and the feedback really helps ^^

Very original concept with a very good and unique take on the theme, my biggest issue like many have said is sadly the gameplay. I fully understand that due to life and personal reasons the game didn't turn out as expected, which I can cut some slack for; however, based on other jam submissions, I must be fair.

Personally, the gameplay was boring. I wish some more gameplay/mini-games came into the picture to help spice it up more. Additionally, I felt the game lacked any story or lore, which is a shame because this game 100% seems like something that would contain some intriguing story. It would have added depth and engagement to the experience.

Moreover, the absence of any music or sounds felt very... odd? I don't know how to describe it, but it left the game feeling empty, in my opinion.

Overall, this game has potential. I highly encourage you, if you can, to work on this as a full-fledged project since I can see the foundation for something unique and fun. However, as it currently stands, it falls short in terms of providing an engaging experience. I apologize if I sound harsh; I'm simply being honest.

I hope whatever is going on personally, life-wise gets sorted out! I wish you the best of luck for your future works!

Wow, I must say, I personally adore this game! It feels like a breath of fresh air to me. Everything about it showcases a sense of uniqueness and specialness. The music used is delightful and perfectly complements the game, while the art style, with its distinct pixel art, stands out beautifully from many other pixel games i've seen (both in this and outside the jam).

One aspect that I truly love is the mechanics. I find it incredibly enjoyable how the game gradually guides your hand in the beginning and then allows you to connect the dots based on what it has taught you. For instance, the idea of only your younger self being able to traverse thin bridges but unable to jump, necessitating a switch between the two characters, is brilliantly executed and adds a solid layer of enjoyment in figuring out the puzzles.

Moreover, the writing in the game is splendid! Personally, I enjoy it a lot. However, I do have a suggestion to enhance its presentation. Perhaps incorporating it into a storybook format or even having it whispered in your head by a shadowy figure that follows you could add an extra layer of immersion. This idea just came to mind, so take it with a grain of salt, but it could potentially elevate the overall experience.

I did encounter a minor quirk where I unintentionally triggered a jumping dance party by hitting blocks underneath and holding the jump button. Aside from that, the game is remarkably free of bugs, which is a pleasant surprise. (for a 3 day jam just amazing how bug free it is! I can't express it enough haha)

If you have plans to expand this game (which I highly encourage, as it possesses a lot of potential), I would recommend introducing more complex puzzles and implementing a pause menu. Additionally, adding some flair to the main menu, which currently feels a bit unfinished, would further enhance the overall presentation.

Overall, despite a few minor nitpicks here and there, this game is an amazing little puzzle platformer! I genuinely hope it evolves into a larger project because the potential it holds is truly remarkable. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hello! I must say, this game is really nice! I thoroughly enjoyed the graphics and the charming atmosphere it creates. The visuals have a certain allure to them, and I couldn't help but feel intimidated at times, which added to the overall experience.

The atmosphere of the game is spot on! The attention to detail in the walls and the presence of skeletons throughout the environment contribute to a creepy and mysterious vibe. Additionally, the mechanics, although a bit confusing at times, are quite unique and fitting for the theme.

However, I do have some critiques to offer. Firstly, I encountered several graphic and game bugs. I noticed that the floor occasionally popped out slightly, allowing me to see through it, and there was an instance where the glowing magic rock thing phased through the floor, making it impossible for me to retrieve it and requiring a hard reset of the game! even after pressing Q i couldn't do anything :( (below are the images from the games as you see)

Furthermore, I found the reaper to be quite challenging. I died a lot of times, and despite my efforts, it seemed impossible to evade its clutches, and with no checkpoints it can be very tedious. Perhaps making the reaper slightly easier by having the memories or sounds made more impactful, allowing me to avoid him more easy, or even have him stunned for a bit sometimes would be beneficial. Additionally, I wasn't aware of the existence of the inventory until later in the game, as the voice was difficult to hear. I recommend including subtitles or an objective tracker to provide clearer guidance to players.

Overall, considering the limited development time of just three days, this game is a splendid achievement. The impressive visuals and the nailed atmosphere are commendable. However, the difficulty of the reaper, the unclear mechanics, and the presence of bugs did impact the overall experience. Nevertheless, great job on creating an intriguing game in such a short span of time!

thank you! yeah the echo part got bugged out due to misspelling (I was rushing near the end haha) but the second voting is over im def gonna patch things >:)

also thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the music! made the time worth it!

I understand that this project is very small and unfinished, and given the time constraint of just three days, it can be challenging to create something impressive. When comparing it to other submissions in the jam, I have to admit that I would rate this one quite low...

That being said, there are aspects of your game that I do appreciate. The art style is lovely, and the idea itself is simple yet cool! However, there are a few areas where I feel it falls short. The ears has too many health which is frustrating and the lack of UI makes it difficult to gauge the health levels accurately. Additionally, this kept leading to several deaths because I had no idea how much health I had left. Another notable flaw is the lack of explanation within the game. It would have been helpful to receive some guidance on the main attack and its ability to deflect bullets. Furthermore, I encountered some bugs during my playthrough.

Overall, your game has a solid concept that fits the theme well, and the character art is appealing. However, it didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of gameplay and overall execution. I apologize if my feedback sounds discouraging. Keep in mind that there is always room for improvement, and I encourage you to keep working on your skills and refining your ideas! best of luck in your future projects!

Hey there! I just wanted to share my thoughts haha. I have to say, while I appreciate the idea and originality, it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

One thing that stood out as a major flaw is the lack of indicators. I felt like there should have been clearer sound cues to help me differentiate between traps and trees. It became almost impossible at times because I couldn't tell what was what until it was too late! And having to force close the game every time I died was quite tedious :/ Maybe the restart button wasn't working for me, but it left me stuck in limbo with a message until I had to restart the entire game.

I also encountered a few bugs. I got stuck inside the river/lake, and there was no way to escape other than to reset. On top of that, the gameplay felt a bit slow-paced.

But don't get me wrong, your game really nailed the atmosphere and horror vibes, and the sound design was pretty good! Despite my personal frustrations, I have to admit that your game fits the jam theme well, and the idea and originality are commendable. I genuinely hope you'll take these flaws into consideration and improve upon them in your future projects. I would definitely be interested in seeing this or other games you make progress!

I hope I haven't come across too harshly. Best of luck with your future works! :D

this is a solid little game; The art style is definitely a standout, and the concept itself is really cool. However,  the puzzles lacked originality, and there were some bugs that affected the gameplay experience.

For instance, there was an issue with the door where even though I pressed the buttons, it wouldn't open. The sound would play, but the door itself remained unresponsive. Additionally, the twisting mechanic was quite janky and didn't work smoothly. Another bug occurred with the echo/recorded bot, which somehow pushed the pole thing into the pit, resulting in a softlock and forcing me to restart the game.

Despite these issues, I must say that the artwork and presentation of the game are stunning. I particularly loved the design of the robot and the overall concept. There's definitely a lot of potential here! Considering the short development time of just 3 days, it's an impressive achievement. I would encourage you to focus on patching the bugs and incorporating more original puzzle ideas. It would be great to see you push the limits of the recording function and take the game to the next level. Solid job overall!

This game is a simple yet enjoyable experience! I really like it! The art style is fantastic, and the variety of different towers adds a nice touch to the gameplay. Overall, it provided a decent amount of fun!

If I were to be a bit picky, I did encounter an odd bug. Before defeating the two big bosses, the game unexpectedly displayed the 'thanks for playing' screen. Since I was in build mode at the time, I couldn't exit without force quitting the application. Additionally, I found the game to be quite short. It would have been great to have an endless mode where I could continue playing and face increasingly challenging waves! (I wanted an army of towers dammit! lol)

Nevertheless, it's still a delightful little game! The theme was implemented perfectly in my opinion, and the art is absolutely lovely. I just wish I had more time to fully enjoy it. Considering the limited development time of just three days, I understand the constraints. Making a game in such a short period is quite a feat! So despite my critiques, you should be proud of your accomplishment. Good work! :)

Aw, thank you so much! Yeah, I discovered the issue behind it. It turned out to be a simple typo with the tags. The echos were set to detect a "dog" and "cat" collision, but they were tagged as "Dog" and "Cat." Silly punctuation mistakes, ugh! >:(

So, oops! But as soon as the voting ends, I'll be able to patch it up, along with adding a few more abilities. While testing, I realized that the stun ability might be a bit unfair and easily spammable. So, I'm considering removing the stun and introducing new effects instead. Maybe something like getting dizzy and inverting controls? Who knows! I have some plans to give the echos a bigger role and mix up the strategies. I might even add special balls or power-ups! Sorry, I got carried away with ideas, haha!

Really, thank you! I'm proud that this is my first solo project that I managed to complete. Being a generally slow person, it was a challenge for me to push myself both in terms of confidence and mental fortitude to finish this game. I'm thrilled that the feedback has been positive so far! (of course wish i had time to fix the bugs that are there before submitting :( )  I'm also excited to play your games, both the ones you've made now and the future ones you'll create. Can't wait! ^^

This game is amazing! I can't get enough of how you've incorporated the theme into the mechanics. It's such a unique concept that works brilliantly for a maze game. And that monster... It genuinely gave me chills! The first time I encountered it, my heart skipped a few beats. As someone who has played my fair share of horror games and rarely gets spooked, that thing managed to scare me! (I'm pretty sure my soul flew away from fear!)

Now, onto my two main points of feedback. Firstly, I felt that the AI could use some improvement. I found it relatively easy to maneuver around them without much consequence. Adding more challenging and dynamic behavior to the AI could enhance the overall experience. Secondly, and this is more of a personal preference, I wasn't a fan of the fog color. The greenish hue didn't quite appeal to me, and I think a more neutral gray or even black, with the sonar doubling as a light source, could create a more atmospheric and visually appealing setting. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Despite these minor critiques, I want to emphasize how much I genuinely love this game. The fact that you managed to create such an enjoyable experience in just three days is truly impressive. My feedback should in no way diminish the fact that I had a fantastic time playing it. You guys should be immensely proud of your accomplishment. Well done! ^^

This entry is without a doubt one of the standout gems in the jam! Almost everything about it is near perfection or simply perfect. I can't help but adore this game!

When it comes to horror games, this is a shining example of how it should be done. Instead of relying on cheap jumpscares, the focus is on building tension, suspense, and that lingering feeling of unease. It's truly captivating and keeps you on the edge, never knowing if you're truly alone or not. The gradual descent into madness is masterfully executed. I absolutely love it!

The story, though simple, is fascinating and well-paced. I won't give away too much, but the way the game evolves and changes to reflect each passing day is incredibly immersive and exciting. And let's talk about the art style! The camera effects used create a stunning and unique visual experience. It has a retro vibe that sets it apart and adds to the overall charm. I can't praise it enough! (also curious on how you did it, I know the outline is a unity asset but that retro pixelation is really cool! I wonder how? haha)

If I were to nitpick, the Unity terrain occasionally reveals its ugly shortcomings, but the distinctive art style mostly masks any noticeable flaws. Additionally, in the final part with the police, the ability to clap did undermine the tension a bit. I couldn't help but burst into laughter, it was like the main protag was like "you got me, you win our game of hide and seek, BRAVO!". It might be worth considering implementing a script or modifying the player control to disable the clapping function specifically for that part. Other than that, this game is an absolute joy. As a horror game enthusiast, it provided a perfect short experience that never grew stale and avoided relying on cheap scare tactics with hyper-realistic blood or clichéd spooky characters. It's a truly delightful psychological horror experience. Amazing work!

aw thank you for the feedback! I'm very glad you enjoy the art! as that is mostly my specialty haha! I was heavily inspired by old atari stuff and along with those old fnaf arcade minigame portions for it!

I'm also happy everyone seems to be glad/impressed with the content packed in, it made the time crunch and cups of coffee worth it hahah! Thanks for your kinds words and feedback! I'm excited to showoff future updates, patches and games >:)

Thank you for the feedback! yeah it was insanity but im proud I got it in!

as for the twist, it seems that it got bugged and rarely/doesnt at all work! for some reason the collision freaks out and doesn't work! I already got it near fixed for the next patch/update once voting is over! If I can I also plan to add maybe a new ability or two! but we'll see ^^

thanks for the feedback, sorry the twist did get all bugged, but I ensure you I'm already fixing it >:)

firstly thanks for the praise haha! glad to see everyone being so friendly with their feedback and responses! also i fully get the 3 level thing, with such short time I'm surprised about how much polish all the games (including yours easily top 5 most polished in the jam) have!

Regarding the platforms, I understand your point. Personally, I think simplifying it to one button for the platforms or adjusting the speed of the platforms could make the gameplay experience smoother and more enjoyable. Another possibility could be tweaking the jump mechanics to make it feel slightly more floaty, providing players with better control. Of course, these are just ideas off the top of my head, so please take them with a grain of salt lolll.

Ah, the exploits! It's always amusing to discover those intended "unintended" tricks in games. The placement of coins now makes more sense to me, considering their connection to the exploits. If you plan on creating more levels, I would suggest being mindful of that and other exploits and either implementing a cooldown mechanic or designing levels that take them into account.

Once again, fantastic job on your game! I'm genuinely excited to see what you'll come up with next. Keep up the great work, and best of luck with this and future projects!

awesome! same here im hyped to fix up all the bugs I got! and im excited to see what you'll do ^^

yeah I seen some people talk about the screen for sure, mainly cause due to my not as big knowledge on unity I did just stick to one size, though I plan for the future to make it all scale to any screen! (been watching some tutorials haha) I agree the gameplay def needs some tweaking! which is the main plan (along with bug fixing) for the future of the game!

thanks! for a first time I'm proud! I know it ain't perfect but seeing everyone at least compliment the amount of stuff packed into this made all of this worth it! same with the feedback! thanks again and I'm excited to show off future patches and updates after the voting >:)

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the game and I'm pumped to work on future updates!

I agree the echos need more impact, and there's definitely a bug or two causing issues. Time constraints got the better of me, but I'll fix those bugs and make the echos wave away as planned! Also plan on adding some abilities and increasing their size a bit more just to make it more impactful on the gameplay!

Thanks for pointing out the screen and collision problems. I plan on getting the scaling done and make it so that the player teleports back if they leave, just in case! And I've got some fun ideas for new stages and hazards in the pipeline >:D (maybe even more characters and animation?)

I appreciate your feedback and I'm diving right into fixing those bugs. Hope you'll enjoy my future work and updates!

(1 edit)

wowzah! thanks for the feedback!

I do agree the gameplay could def feel better! again I was focused on so much things some parts were sadly overseen, the echos are the main thing I feel like I could've improved the most, since I do know they're very very small to really affect much, I tried to make them more tricky to dodge by shrinking the stage, but yeah I'm already going back to change a lot of things! and fix those pesky bugs!

It seems the echos aren't working too well/at all either? that's very very odd? I'm gonna check that out and see why that's going on, cause that's bad if one of the meant to be main mechanics aren't working o.o

and yes! you can clearly see stuff like the ball colliding is meant more for the future! I got some fun ideas for it, since I plan to make echos have more impact and possible effects ;)

thanks for you kind words and constructive feedback! I'm glad despite the bugs here and there many people are enjoying the game ^^

Hey! firstly thanks for playing!

second, yeah that's one of the main things I messed up on, the "Echoes" don't have as massive gameplay focus as possible, I tried to fix that by making it so that the stage shrinks, making them harder to avoid, but once the voting ends I'm 100% going back to patch it up!

as for the AI that's the left over of hard mode! also I am planning to adjust the cool down on the bot, but originally I planned to have 3 difficulties for both the co-op and the single vs cpu mode! of course maybe keeping the hard only wasn't the best call o.o I just like challenge in games but yeah it was unfair for the ai to be super fast dodgeball throwers (co op is hell mainly trying it myself o.o)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like the idea! and I do plan on making this a bigger game! since it'd be fun to add some powerup balls or have the echos do some extra effects ;) (also fix the dam pause menu hahaha)

Thank you for your feedback and helpful tip! I completely agree that there were some bugs and glitchy buttons in the game, particularly with the pause functionality (stupid bugs >:(). Due to time constraints, I wasn't able to address those issues. However, I see it as a valuable learning experience for future game jams! and I'm 100% gonna go patch those up once the rating period is over!

I genuinely appreciate your suggestion regarding pixel art in Unity. As someone who is still relatively new to Unity, I found your tip regarding the "Point (no filter)" filter and "None" compression settings very valuable. It's great to receive feedback and learn new techniques that can enhance the visual quality of pixel art in larger scales. Thank you for taking the time to share that with me! again thank you so much! I'm happy to learn such valuable info for my first solo game jam ^^
