something wrong with jump , or i am stupid haha . other than hard jumps everything is butter , cant believe a 3 day jam

Developer

thanks you! Jumps were made to be hard, but maybe we over did it

Jump King, you can't just dress up as a different game made by a different person with different mechanics and expect me to forgive you and let you back into my life! Even if you do have the exact same tough but fair gameplay I find so addicting... and unorthodox controls that take time to show you their depth... with your difficulty being perfectly balanced to make every jump in challenge feeling oh so sweet to overcome... oh what the hell, let's give this another shot.

Developer

yeah jump king was a huge inspiration for it haha glad you liked it

Very cool entry, good job!

I think your gameplay loop is engaging, the movement itself is satisfying and has enough depth that you can always do things differently and save time by doing trickier jumps. Some stuff didn't feel too intuitive to me, like how bumping your head on a ceiling will kill your momentum and trajectory almost instantly. Also, it felt like doing a more horizontal jump took me way less far than it should, as if my character became a lot heavier when choosing that angle. I don't know, that part felt kind of unnatural to me, maybe you intended the jump to be that way but I think it could be good to take a look at it. I didn't get all the way through the game - I got a bit frustrated, which I think is kind of the point of your game, since it feels like sort of a rage game with all the setbacks to your progress and stuff. I don't think that's a negative, it's just that I don't think I'm the right audience in a way.

I think your use of the theme was very original and the whole concept ties in together very nicely. The game feels well thought out concept wise, which I like.

In terms of aesthetics, I think the art gets the job done pretty well. The rooms look complete since they're not just empty, which is a nice touch.

The music is alright, feels appropriately tech-y for the concept you've chosen. I think there could be a bit more sound effects, though, since I sometimes felt like the soundscape was a bit empty. That's just my two cents!

Overall, great entry, keep up the good work!

thanks for the feedback!
I think the jump multipliers are a little skewed right now, very suble mouse movement increases or decreased the jumpforce a lot, will definetly try and balance things out

Great Game! I couldn’t actually complete it (my bad), I still really enjoyed it and i like the unique movement and graphics, its really well made.

Developer

hey no worries, the game is made to be hard. glad you liked it

this game’s controls broke my brain so hard (not a negative, great to see weird quirky movement). I’ve seen quite a few of these recoil jump mechanics in this jam so far… (at least 5, and I’m sure there are more), but you managed to keep it fresh (or heated) definitely points for originality

the art fits together pretty well, there’s quite a bit of ““unnecessary”” decoration to add to the scenery.

overall solid.

also hard! but I’m particularly horrible at these recoil jump games, so maybe others find it easier.

🧊 cheers

Developer

nice feedback! The "unnecessary" decoration happened because we were to focused on making the levels not look so stale we kind of exaggerated a bix xd

i meant that as a compliment in case not clear : )

text is sometimes hard, meaning and tone gets lost

Developer(+1)

oh I see haha
even if it wasn't a compliment I wouldn't take offense, feedbacks are always welcomed

This game is incredible, is really trick, but when you start to understand it, you become addicted to it!! Great game, the level design is carefully made so that trying the "easy" way makes you fall directly into a whole, so you always need to rethink your strategy. Overall great game, 10/10!
