Nice game! Looks good and organic. A bit easier than Tetris and i like that
Maybe a bit too easy tho. And i found a bug: you can rotate a piece infinitely just when it touches the pile. So it was even easier for me
I like that if you have gaps you can still complete lines above to get to the gaps. But do i remember correctly that it takes away the score? If i do then maybe it shouldn't, loosing a line to nothing is a big enough punishment
Thanks for playing!
Yeah both of those were deliberate. The indefinite spinning is presenting a choice. Each time the bottom line clears, the score goes down. So if youre going for a high score, your strategy is a bad idea. If youre going for longevity, it is.
Yeah clearing lines reduces points. Again to incentivize efficient play.
So if you want the challenge its there, but if you want to just play, that works too.
(Is what i was aiming for anyway haha)
Thanks again!
Playing this game really brings me back to wasting hours and hours at school playing tetris instead of learning
Thanks! Just like an arcade game should do haha
The timer adds a very interesting tactical twist, as you now sometimes can wait for the timer to end so you can complete the line above that and just occasional try not to complete certain lines. Timing well and planning adds an extra layer of strategy to a classic.
Job well done!
Graphics are a bit simple but work well. The grey "preview" could be a bit darker, when thinking fast, my mind was getting confused and thinking the real block is almost at the bottom and I need to act fast.
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I couldn't find a good way to represent the ghost tile without adding gridlines or a background image such that the transparency of the piece would distinguish it more. But maybe you're right and a darker hue would be better.
I'll give it a go!
Pretty fun take on the a true classic Tetirs gameplay.
Thanks!
It's a nice alternative to classic tetris, but I might have made the timer destroy the lines the player has completed so that he struggles to get to the next level. Good entry !
Oooh, that is an interesting idea. My initial thinking was to have that growing pile be reducing the time the player has to place their pieces.
But having those disappear at increments would add a more generalized sense of urgency. I'll have to mess with that and see if I can integrate it.
Thanks for the feedback!
