graphics and music are superb, I did find some of the gameplay disorienting in parts, weed was little repetitive, but a reasonably well polished game! well done

Developer

I’m guessing the disorientating gameplay was the camera movement and if so I’ve had a couple comments and I am to fix that next time. If it’s anything please let me know so I can try and improve. Either way thanks for the comment

Notes as I play:

- space to skip should be per segment, maybe give another option to skip the whole thing. I had thought space would just speed up the texts and missed the whole backstory! Had to restart (so maybe back would also be helpful)

- i really love the music choice for this. It's similar to the type of music that plays during heartwarming ads for political agendas, and it's nice to see it flipped and used for something meaningful

- control info would help. I am basically just doing squats and can't figure out to access the mission board. Edit: oh maybe mission board is just visual? Bit confusing UI here, feels like it should be interactive or I should get some text to give me a task

- omg the music, so good

- how do I swap items?

- what does the hammer and sickle next to a potato icon mean? Are all our potatoes belonging to us?

- this background is really pretty

Developer

I tried putting a list of all the controls into the description of the game on the itch.io page because I ran out of time to incorporate them… I’ll try and make those a bit more clear and obvious next time, sorry about that. Thanks for your feedback regarding the skipping, I’ll make sure to try that next time. The hammer and sickle… well goddamn now I’m not sure! (If it’s the icons on the left it should be a sickle to represent harvesting because it was the best I could find and the other icon is a shovel…)

The icons might be overlapping - on my screen, I'm seeing a potato icon and above it there is an intersected image of two farm tools crossing each other. It looks pretty metal!

Actually really enjoyed this experience. Music set the tone, the instructions were clear and I enjoyed watching the potatoes grow. It gave me a sense of achievement

Developer

Thanks so much! It’s great to hear you enjoyed it

Damn, wish I could play this - the download on a mac didn't work out for me.

Developer

If I get back to the hotel in time I’ll try to build it to Mac  and dm it to you but I may not have time… next time I’ll try and allocate more time to make it webGL for everyone. Sorry about that

Developer

Unfortunately just got back and it’s probably not really fair if I publish a different build… sorry about that, I’ll make sure to make it webGL next time for everyone

Nicely done. I harvested 7 potato.

The weeding mechanic is a little tedious, but the main issue is the way the camera moves.

The view wobbles too much. In a first person game you don't want the head movement to be too realistic as it will make (some) people motion sick.

Good work though.

I had to originally modify all the animations to remove the bobbing for that reason then for some reason I decided to add it back in code just vertical this time. Next time I’ll try to reduce the level of bobbing. Thanks for the feedback
