This is a great "take" on a retro bullet hell. The game oozes personality, especially the enemy designs and animations. You absolutely nailed the retro feel.
Good job!
Fun arcade, really retro vibe, Great!
One of my favorite entries with an amazing gameplay which reminds me some Gryzor levels' transition - a game named Contra out of Europe. Maybe it is too easy when player got some bonus. It is like a schmup. The music is a little bit too repetitive, but it is exactly like at this era. There are many different enemies with different behavior. Great! You made a solid entry. Well done ++
It was very fun. I liked the perspective aiming, it was not hard to get used to. Maybe the power up usage could be improved if you won by chance defeating an enemy and not have it "for free" in certain levels, since it does provide a big advantage. Last screen (I assume) had an absurd difficulty increase, even with 6 bullets, after I got hit 2 times and lost the powerups it was impossible to stand anywhere withouth beign hit.
This feels quite authentic to the 80s, and is a lot of fun! I did find it pretty easy, up until the (i assume endless) final room, but it did a great job of feeling frantic and involved. I like that you included a variety of enemy types, and even a powerup, though I did feel like having the powerup made things a bit too easy. Overall, good job!
This was a simple, but fun top-down shooter. Your player character controls well, and it's not too hard to aim with the perspective. Although the mechanics are simple, that's fine for a game jam game. My only real complaint is with the difficulty curve; rooms 1 through 9 are mostly very easy, especially the ones with the purple spider enemies, but then the endless room 10 has its difficulty spike up very fast and eventually becomes pure bullet hell.
Maybe it's supposed to be a kill screen like in Tetris?
