Cute graphics! It's awesome that you made the music yourself, and it was jamming too! That's very important in a rhythm game. It would be nice if you could reset and pause with the keyboard though. And even after reading your post, it took me a while to figure out that you had to hold S and D to use other colors instead of select them once to switch.

What was the origin story?
Burn The Slimes was started during vacations for a low-resolution jam, and the initial goal was only to make a game where I could use my own music and make my own pixel art assets.
The vacations ended, which led to less time for a project which was way more challenging than I expected (rhythm games need everything to always be in sync with the music), which led me to stop it entirely, and even make another project in between (Don't Scrap Food, go check it out!).
But thanks to this jam, I got the motivation to at least finish a prototype!
And this is what I've got here, so yes, I would say this is a success :)
