Title
Route 1

Description
I designed a song after the classical 'route1' songs from Pokemon, and then changed this to solo-piano.

Hi, there,

I really like your composition. You could have posted it at a Town Music Jam. I find the melody very pretty and reassuring.

It's clearly music that deserves to be played on a real piano, because the Musescore sound doesn't do your composition justice.

And I love the idea of hearing an orchestrated version. It gives you an idea of what you wanted to do. Honestly, both versions work well.

If you get a chance, you could share the Musescore file or the midi of the piano version, I'd be curious to hear what I could do with it on my DAW.

See you tomorrow for RMCC#6?

Developer

Glad to hear from you again :)

I didn't end up joining RMCC#6, I have mostly been working on songs for my own sake, privately. When a Town Music Jam or something alike comes along, I will definitely end up joining again!

Sure, I will put up the Musescore file for both versions. I've always been curious what would happen if someone like you or Blue Lava would "finish" my songs :D. But don't feel pressured to do so if you lose interest. I am happy working in Musescore - I'd even say that the mediocre sounds force me to look into different aspects of music, such as interesting compositions and chord progressions, making me a better musician overal! So I don't mind the sounds anymore. Someday, I'll leave all my old programs and hardware behind... but not today!

It's a cute and bright song. It would be great for that Route1 everything's grand kind of movement.

Thanks a lot :D

This is really charming, I was seeing Pidgeys flying around in my head when I listened to this haha. I like the structure and melody, and I think a bit more variety in the sound would really help this piece come to life. For the piano version, a quick and easy way to diversify your sound palette would be to play around with moving the melody up and down octaves in various sections to give it different timbre. Also, varying the rhythm of the left hand when the music comes back to the first theme at 0:50 by using syncopations and such might help make the return to the original melody sound even more special and nice. Overall, great job!

I love tips! As an amateur musician, I can really use these kind of tips. Thanks a lot, I'll look into them next time :D

I can totally feel the route 1 vibes, this track is very nostalgic. I like the non-piano version even more, but the piano only version is excellent anyway and the feel is still there. Very nice!

Thank you :D

I like how cheerful it sounds and I can definitely hear the route 1 inspiration.

I think however that it might take too much inspiration from it because it almost feels like a remix at times, particularly near the beginning.

Developer

Thanks a lot :D

I actually took inspiration from the Pokemon DPP route 201 song. That song sounds quite a lot different than this, so I might have done one of those 'almost accidental plagiarism' kind of things. I'll look into the other 'Route 1' themes to see what you mean, thanks for the tip anyway!

Host

nick can you put a link to your submission, I made it not required accidentaly lol

Developer

I don't actually have it on any streaming platform. Currently I just have it as a .mp3 download. Do you really want me to upload it to a streaming platform?

Host

yeah I don't want people need to download stuff in order to rate the music

Developer

Alright, I'll get it done today!
