Good day, Wrath of Wood!
I have played this game and here are some of my feedbacks:
- The intro animation was awesome and got me excited!
- I used the mouse to control the camera as well as the QEWS keys to move properly.
- Battles were innovative and quite enjoyable.
- Music and sounds were nice but I had to lower the volume.
- I can really see the vision that you are going for and I really hope you can continue to push this game forward.
Whoa! The vibe of this game is unmatched, and 3D gameplay is a nice change of pace. I'm pretty impressed by the experience you were able to create. While the dice combat is pretty ingenious, it usually became a game of spamming space bar and eating cookies. That wasn't super fun. It was also not very easy to see what number was supposed to have come up, so I often thought I rolled an 8 but got something lamer. Fishing was also spamming spacebar. Definitely look for more meaningful choices in my combat. Most meaningful gameplay was the block pushing puzzle, which I'm glad I found. Oh, that baby game I couldn't control using up and down. I still got 10 points.
Cool submission Wrath!
All the animations need tweaking I was having trouble with the z axis height not animating properly. As a result sometimes the position of the dice are behind objects. The arrows above npcs also were supposed to bounce up and down too. This stuff works in effkseer but not in game. I'm coming up with some ideas to spice up battles. Thanks so much for playing it.
I never thought I'd see a "3D" rpg maker game, that's a point in your favor! :)
I found the battles very enjoyable: using different types of dice is an interesting concept, it reminds me of super mario party! I also found some difficulties with controls at the beginning but I got used to it. Good job!
I love the art style for this one! Very much reminds me of Super Mario 64. Especially with the black and white checkered floor. I think I would definitely improve controls. A little clunky. The camera also at times made me a little nauseous when it rotated but I know MZ3D's camera smoothness is a tad limited so that's not your fault.
Overall I liked this one for nostalgia purposes and it was quite enjoyable! :D
Please also consider playing my entry as well.
and great job!
Awesome game, I was able to become the to dice master. The graphics were awesome, the models were awesome, the music was good for all scenes that I was involved in, the dice battles were very much balanced and very forgiving with all the cookies that I was able to save up thanks to my good judgment of when to use them, I have left a first impressions on youtube on this games main page,
As a side note: Please fix your game page's accessibility. It is very hard to read the text, especially for someone who has a hard time identifying colors.
The slime puzzle was a bit annoying to deal with as there is no pull option and there is some issue with clipping from what I could see (it looked like the 3 block slides into the 1 blocks instead of stopping).
Controls are just annoying. Indoor vs outdoor rotate/strafe controls are swapped. Check if there is an option in the plugin to have them match maybe because the indoor controls feel awkward and unnatural for people who have played FPS games and many other FP games. Diagonal movement is also awkward regarding events and stairs/ramps. Turn speed indoors is really slow without using the mouse as well.
Also, try adding a way to review the tutorials, such as by having the control tutorial as a common event then adding an item when the tutorial calls that adds an item that lets you view the tutorial again later. (You can have it check for item and only provide an item if you don't have one and set the item to not be consumable.) There are also plugins that allow you to review tutorials once unlocked.
The slime die (since you only roll one) seemed just really weak compared to the other dice. The vampire seemed to be the best. The lightning dice's description could be made more clear because it sounds like it hurts you.
Fishing was kind of annoying because all you really end up doing is spamming the okay button with a relatively low chance of success.
Would be nice if it was mentioned in-game clearly that continue would reduce your rating.
The arcade game felt weird with the arrows controlling the map instead of the character (I know it technically does control the character, but that isn't how it feels). Killing the rocks seemed kind of pointless though.
There are some things that just felt unusually flat and some objects just aren't very clear what they are.
Thanks for being critical. The control and camera was the thing I was most worried about. I was considering adding an toggle option that shows the controls on screen but dropped it because of complexity (moving it out of the way during dialog, battles, etc) As for box puzzle those events are so janky and gravity doesn't work even thou its tagged to work, floating boxes are possible lol. That is just a shortcoming of the plugin and can be reset by re-entering the shop.
Hi Wrath! This was quite interesting, the only thing I can complain is the controls being super annoying. Everything else i enjoyed. I liked the Dice Battle Mechanic. I kept the vampire dices through all the run, those are so cool!
The "continue" shouldn't heal you completely, feels a bit easy. Also, there was thi bug where the enemy can fall to minus hp and still play until they beat you, didn't happen often, like 2 times all the run.
Great entry, had so much fun.
