Nice little tower-defense game! Horrid luck being the only farmhouse in a valley that seems to be surrounded by cities of the undead!

I think it’s likely mentioned by others, but the interface and un-trustable placing mechanic is a bit of a hurdle, and with the hordes all coming in at once from everywhere, it can be a bit frustrating at times.

I am also not really making a place a home, rather just protecting it, making it un-homey for the zombies!

All in all, a fun and cute entry, once you get the hang of it.

Good job!

This game was a little laggy for me (which is possibly my old computer) so I struggled to set up traps and defences, and especially had no time to do anything decent before the zombies were upon me on all sides. I would have liked a little bit more starting grace, such as what you get in some tower-defence games, where it's paused or the timer is very slowed to give you a chance to set up your defences.  I also found that sometimes I would click on a resource and it wouldn't activate so I'd end up placing the wrong item in the wrong spot and not realising at first because after my first game it seemed to me that it would be easier to play zoomed out but then I couldn't really see much of what I was doing. Other times I "placed" things but they didn't show up (yet the resource-remaining number went down).

I would have liked it if the game sort of ramps up so instead of 200 zombies coming at you at once from every possible direction it's a few at a time so you can learn (and breathe), with the difficulty increasing over time. I really love the variety of offensive and defensive weapons but I found I was just clicking on whatever was visible to use because the UI was too slow as the zombies got closer and closer and I realised I had, for example, gaps, or I'd placed something awkwardly and they were just walking around it. (Pathfinding was therefore really good! Those zombies are too smart!)

Thank you for playing my game. The time wasn't enough to implement all the features I wanted(load shedding and extra power cuts).  So the time delay before the zombies start swarming got cut.

It's great to see a tower defense entry here, and you did it well. I had some fun defending my little home and a laugh over the name as well. Good entry and all the best with the jam!

Developer

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed the game. Best wishes with the game Jam!

I'm currently obsessed with tower defense games, so this game really scratches that itch of being fun and stressful! I would have liked to have seen some sort of visual indication of where the zombies would start coming from when I first started playing, since I first started to build my defence on the opposite side of the map XD

Developer

Thank you for playing my game. I will indicate with arrows from where the zombies are coming from.

I liked the concept, as a sort of tower defence game. The variety in the stuff you could put down was cool, and I liked the limited number of each thing as well. Some of the items weren't super intuitive to understand though (e.g. the spike barricade didn't seem to damage the zombies, just block them off), and having to click an arrow to get to new ones was a bit tedious, especially with the real time element.

I felt like I often didn't have enough time to properly defend, but that's me in all tower defence games. Like someone noted below, I sometimes had trouble placing the things where I wanted them, but if I stayed far enough away from the house it worked fine, so maybe that was deliberate? I also would have liked a bit clearer indication of ground covered (e.g. I sometimes thought I'd blocked a part, but then the zombies would just wander through a gap I couldn't see).

Thank you for playing my game. Maybe check if your space bar isn't stuck in snapping mode. Some times when I play I forget that I am in snapping mode and not in free mode.

Okay once you figure out what the controls are, this game is really fun! Just a realtime tower defence.

I've had some problems with the controls though. The cursor bugs out sometimes and just isn't where I need it to be. Because of how the game can lead to intense situations, I think a quicker UI would be beneficial. Easy access to any item at any time would make a good flow. Good game!

Really well made game, and a lot of fun to plan out the choke points and see hordes get funneled in and destroyed in one go. Good luck with the Jam :)

I liked this one. The controls felt a little bit clunky at times, but I think it's got some cool concepts to work with. I like the idea of a free form tower defense style game like this where you have to build your own maze. The sound effects where also nice and juicy.

Took me a minute to figure out there was more options than just the walls, but played 3 rounds and had a lot of fun once I figured that out. Good job. :)
