This was super fun to play, and the great art made it even better! The game moves so fast you barely have time to think, and it’s only after your time is up that you can look at the mess of a house you’ve created and wonder what exactly you just did lol.

I love the art! It’s super cute and fits the playful vibe of the game perfectly! I also really enjoyed the little jokes in the form section, like needing to fill in your blood type and proof of existence. All in all, really fun and a pleasure to play.

Superbly cutesy, yet somewhat anxiety inducing!

I absolutely love the art style, and the experience definitely imitates real life, as all great art pieces do!

It did feel a bit hectic to try and rotate things, the time limit just not lending itself to that mechanic, and feeling a bit slow, so it was mostly reserved for the few occasions where trying to tetris-squeeze as many things into a room as possible left me with oddly shaped spaces remaining available.

I also feel like it took me a couple of times to understand how the document section worked. I tried click & drag, clicking the paper first and file/folder second, and then only the file first, and document “field” second, which worked. Naturally, it meant I only stood a chance with the third contract I completed, with the order of requirements also staying the same.

In the end, this is a lovely entry that strongly adheres to the theme, and the little touches like Kitty and Ducky being in the box added to the overall enjoyment!

Nicely done!

It was only at the end of my first playthrough that I remembered that you can rotate things, although I guess it's not really necessary. I didn't use it much in subsequent playthroughs because there just isn't enough time.

I really struggled with the application process, as others have noted. It took me a few times to figure out what to do and then even longer to do it perfectly so I could see a "win" ending. I think the reason is that for the first half of the game you are dragging and now suddenly you have to click and then click again and the instructions don't explain that.

I really like your music choices - I think they suit the game perfectly. Similarly I think your art is great for the tone of the game and I love the little touches, such as how the eyes follow you around.

This was so stressful but I think it's a really great interpretation of the theme (not to mention eye-opening about the experience of trying to rent in Cape Town!). Well done!

I love this so much! It's a really, really creative idea and the thought of designing something around timed furniture placement and rental paperwork hadn't even crossed my mind. I think that's something I really love about this game jam experience - just getting to see how creative everyone is and this is GREAT!

And, I've always been a sucker for the little details - the eyes of the couple and the cat following the cursor is a wonderful and really cute touch!

It wasn't immediately clear what to do during the second half as I initially tried to match things via dragging. It took couple of seconds to realize it was two separate clicks, but after that things flowed fine. It's a good gamification of how stressful all that paperwork can feel. xD And, honestly, I moved this year so I can really feel how ridiculous some of the asks are. My blood type? WHAT DO YOU WANT MY BLOOD TYPE FOR? xD

Wholesome! Perfect example of a casual game. It actually makes me feel like I'm playing Papa's Freezeria XD

This had me giggling all the way through. I didn't figure out what I was supposed to do in the application phase until halfway through the first submission, but was fairly easy once I did. I like how the application phase did capture that frantic feeling of "I know I JUST had that document" when going through this process.

One of my favorite parts was that I had to take the cat out of shipping box in each house. Also that I could trash it, since dogs are just objectively better. :P

The humour in this is on point. Music fits well, and the gameplay was very easy to figure out and understand. At first I thought the rental application part would be pretty easy, until I realised there is a scroll bar.

I'll note that I never really rotated objects I put in the homes. There wasn't time, and most of the time I didn't really matter anyway. Having a slightly longer time limit might have been useful, since that would both give people more breathing room to find good angles, and create more filled apartments, which would necessitate rotating things more.

In the rental application bit, it seems as though missing one piece of information automatically gets the application rejected. While this isn't an issue, missing something early on means that you have to sit through the whole rest of it even though there's no point. Maybe just cutting it off once you miss something would help? Or, in a more complex solution, having each missing element affect the chance that you might get a callback? I.e. even if you miss one, there's still incentive to get the rest, since it'll increase your chances of getting a callback.

Anyway, here's my incredible layout for my new apartment:
