Ranked from 3 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.
If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
Retro elements like the beautiful covers that classic games used to have, totally different from gameplay though. Classic games music style. Regarless the effort put onto those games, the cars were so ugly that looked like milkboxes. Static textures in the background during the entire race.
Any additional information for voters?
Inspired by racing games like Top Gear and Virtua Racing. If you do not find this game classic engouh, try to find the TAG on the billboards and add to your ingame name to experience the super classic version.

Really liked this one! Really fun gameplay. Feels like the sort of game that is really good for passing time: mindless but fun. Maybe a good fit on mobile?
I couldn't get the retro mode to work unfortunately. If it's a bug, feel free to upload a patched version before the voting period ends! I think that the core game is more than enough to carry it though.
It's amazing how the addition of a scoreboard really elevates my motive to play. I managed to get just over 20000, but I was playing on and on to try and get the highest score possible. Great idea!
Overall, this is a really solid entry. Jank enough in places, but maybe teetering too much on the good side. I had a lot of fun with it though, and that's what matters in the end. Well done!
This is pretty good, perhaps even too good? I had fun playing it and aside from meme suns I didn't find much bad in it. I liked the art and the music, and the game is fully functional (maybe aside from the teleporting billboards of death, but those might be intentional).
The badness level in this game is like it's a prototype tutorial for making an endless racer game. With scoreboards.
Graphics
Graphics support the 3rd dimension, and that is something I love;
Milk boxes are made with the "make model" button in a 3D software, and 2D graphics are drawn during a photoshop speedrun contest. Also the billboards are sick man!
The same extreme low poly tree coming in a line and sometimes in a high speed makes you think that they're not moving at all. Other milk boxes and random objects are also standing in the road just looking you pass by.
All of these combined with five lines of boxes as a road and the Teletubbies cute sun make a perfect graphics for an SBIG game.
Sound
Start the game, after your mouse is teleported to the top-left; all you can hear is an 8-bit beat playing with tunes like a skinny tired dude is pressing some electric keyboard buttons once a minute. Which is a decent music for an SBIG game. After you start to play, the almost same music just plays faster.
Unfortunately, that's it! No sound of a magical Milk box floating on the ground or hit effects or even a simple beep for getting power-ups.
Gameplay
What's better than a moving milk box? A moving milk box with power-ups! The main gameplay of this game improves your focus, speed and the power-ups also make them fun.
Overall Bad
Let's see, terrible engine (385MB for a 30MB game), no keyboard binding, no options, terrible UI placements, Stretched textures, Bad texture resolutions, Physics just activate when you hit something so player won't have any control over what happens next and the ideology lacks any logic; why does a milk box needs to drive on a road to collect milk?!
Yep, That's bad enough for SBIG.
Overall Good
Let's see, cool banner of a milk van, nostalgic feels of first 3D games, an online anonymous scoreboard, nice colorful graphics, power-ups, Teletubbies sun and most importantly, it is fun to play.
Modifier
As it is obvious by its cover, this game absolutely ships the Retro feelings of a 90's 3D game with its graphics and 8-bit music.
I think this game represents a bad endless racer pretty good! You can improve it for future updates by giving it some player options like keyboard bindings or try to optimize the size of it. You must put some sound effects too. Good job on making it and thanks for reading this whole review :)
btw it's "Keyboard" if you haven't noticed...
Hey IEP_Esy
I appreciate your review, It's a mix of feelings hahaha.
Definetely not photoshop, more of a Microsoft Paint speedrun contest.
The graphics are a little bit messy, but the idea was to have very low poly models, and that came from Virtua Rancing and its attempt to be a 3D game in the 90s, a failure that I loved playing when I was younger.
About the sound, what can I say? hahaha you were very accurate in your words, except there wasn’t a skinny dude pressing the keys. I had a lot of fun testing this game, and indeed the power ups make it cooler! I just sent to some friends the first versions, and was really fun to play against them after the power ups and the leaderboard were implemented!
About the file size, accidentally, I put two compiled versions of the same game in that zip. Still a lot though, I know…My bad (like the rest of the game).
The overall bad made me laugh and cry at the same time hahaha, that is all I can say.
Thanks for paying attention to my super special sun, its a treat for players haha.
And NO I didn't notice the “Keybord” thing before. I guess I’ve got crazy trying to compile 100 versions of this project that I missed some things.
It's ok man your game is nice; we all make mistakes. keep up the great work!
This is a pretty decent entry.
The graphical style is kind of a mess. Some of it is retro, some of it is lowpoly but modern, some of it is just weird. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing for this jam so I didn't rate against it.
The gameplay was simple, but solid. I'm no good at it, but it works. I found it confusing at first but it grew on my once I figured it out. Score attack with a shared leaderboard was definitely the right choice for this game. I'm impressed that you got that working; I had a similar idea but declared it out of scope early on.
I was never able to figure out how to get into the classic version. I do like the box art and title screen a lot, though.
Hey XCVG,
Thanks for you review!
To be honest, I am pretty happy with the leaderboard as well, that made the game really fun while I was testing.
Like classic games this one has a very simple logic, that you master with the time, it was really hard for in the beginning, now I'm almost a pro.
You are totally right about the classic version, I have no idea how I uploaded the wrong version, but I think its too late, haha.
Yesterday I downloaded the submitted file and yep, that is not the correct one. Shame. But if you still want to have an idea of how it looks like, you can check the screenshots!
