This was very fun! I like the cover art and starting comic strip - it's perfectly SBIG and also sets up the story. The gameplay itself works pretty well! My high score before I died was 975. 

Don't have too much to say, but it was a nice little game and  I enjoyed playing it! Thanks for submitting!

I love how the enemies have a Blue screen of death sound when they die

That was a somewhat fun game, although the audio did make it a bit painful. Couple of issues you might want to fix:

  • Noise when killing an enemy is painful (sounds like it’s just looping the first bit of an audio clip instead of actually playing the intended noise)
  • The automatic attacks (when holding attack) are a bit inconsistent (need to move the attack away from an enemy to hit them again)
  • The background audio doesn’t loop when it probably should loop (it just abrubtly stopping after a few minutes)
  • The ‘quit’ button should take the player back to the main menu rather than doing an Application.Quit() (generally not a good idea to use that for Unity WebGL builds).

Still, nitpicks aside, this is a rather valiant effort. I would suggest considering adding some audio feedback for when the player gets hit/is revived/etc as well, maybe adding some upgrades (longer sword range? wider sword? who knows!) to help keep things fresh (maybe adding some roguelike vibes as well), possibly replace the black lines in the background with a rather dark red (so there’s less visual noise from the dark lines), but like there’s plenty of potential here, so, great work!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I will definitely try to figure out these issues soon. Unfortunately, I quite literally just saw this comment so I probably won't be able to fix it before the jam voting ends :( But hopefully after fixing it, people will be able to play it without these issues.

I love the funny comic strip in the beginning! That sound design sure is excessive! It was really fun until I got trapped in a corner

I was running from the enemies, and ended up walking into a corner and getting swarmed

oh I think I know what happened. I don't know if you use unity, but basically I put all the "characters" on the same layer. So they will all collide with you and if the ghosts manage to encircle you in a corner then you essentially have no way out. I think I will be able to fix it (hopefully tonight!) Will comment when the bug is fixed!

I really love the art style of this game. I also think that the concept is nice.
