This was a cool game!! It was pretty challenging, though, I felt like there were a lot of cubes coming in for so few towers (but the streamers so far have been much more talented than me at playing games).  I would've liked a bit of a stronger connection to the theme; it didn't really feel like teleportation, but overall, nicely done!

Great idea! What I would've done differently is to set the tower placement to the left and right mouse button, or keypress (which could support more than two towers).
click and click again is a bit slow for a game like this that rely on speed.

Would like to see more of this, good idea, the upgrade mechanic needs some kind of visual, its hard to tell if I'm supposed to leave the tower in that spot or just spam click it in and out of the spot.

Developer

That's a great idea, my overall UX only works if you created the game and know how it works lol

Maybe it's just me, but I found this too difficult to play.

I have to pay attention to every area where the enemies are coming from, some pathways are shorter than others, and I don't think two turrets that have the same fire rate can honestly do the job. I can't get above 70 pts, and I played this like 3 times already while constantly moving the turrets from one platform to another.

Developer

Yeah I think I need to bump up the health to at least 100hp. My own record was >300 but I made the thing so I know what to do. That said, I think uploading a fix might not be fair during the game jam so I'm leaving it as it is.

Man, I love the concept of this game. I don't know if there's something I'm just not figuring out, though, but it just seems incredibly hard to me. I went through about five rounds, and I don't think I ever topped 80 points. Those yellow guys on the left get me almost every time unless I already have turrets on that side! Am I missing something that should be obvious?

I really, really wanted to like this one because everything else seems to be nicely put together, but the difficulty is just killing it for me.

Developer

Yeah the difficulty curve is a bit wonky. I've gotten 330 locally, that 400 built-in highscore is just speculation on my side lol.

The best way to get a higher score is to UPGRADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, especially the blue turret. Each upgrade increases your range and decreases your cooldown a lil bit. Once you reach a certain point, a single turret can kill an enemy on its own.

Another tip: if your turret isn't shooting or upgrading, you're wasting precious time.

awesome idea!

Tower defense games usually stress me out, but this one was pretty relaxing! I love the twist on the genre, teleporting the towers feels like a fun way to do it. I'd love to see even more levels in a later version with more turrets and upgrade powers!

Thanks for the review! If I ever come back to this, I'd improve the balance, add some levels and spruce up the graphics a bit. I think rendering the turret range and cooldown, and rendering the upgrade timer would improve things a lot :)

I reckon those things would be really cool additions to the game yeah!

Great game, for a less then 5 hour game, that's really advanced.
