Excellent design idea! Challenging and fun. Something I may want to suggest is to make enemies more different so players can distinguish different types of enemies easier. But overall well designed! GL!

Hello, Merxon22!
Thanks very much for your comment))
Yeah, I will remodel and recolor some models for more difference between them
I think I will even hold voting on this platform, where the players themselves will choose which model they want to see in the game, so stay tuned on)

Have a nice day :)

Solid game, the art looks great although I found the UI to look a little off from the game. The gameplay is solid as well. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Hi, The Bean)
Yeah, actually it's something like template for my future UI, so I will redraw it as soon as I find color palette for my game : )
Thank you very much for your reply, it's very valuable information for me)
Have a nice day)

Love the simplicity! It means the strategy can be as simple or complex as you'd like. The art and polish are fantastic. Well done!

Good afternoon Chimham, Thank you very much for your feedback!
It is because of such reviews that there is a desire to work and develop indie games.
I can say the same about your game, it's fantastic!

Hey!

Very impressive little tactic game. Well done!

What I liked:

It is easy to grasp but the tactical decisions make it a nice piece of thought work. The graphics match the music and sound and you got a working leaderboard implemented. Great. You even have different enemy types so it spices the game up.

What I would have wished for:

The only thing I can remark is, that the enemies sometimes looked to similar to me. Of course they have different models but maybe a special color here or there would have made them even more distinguishable from each other.

Overall a very good game and the mechanic behind it, makes it a tough little game. Good job.

Developer(+1)

Hi Rubikow, Thanks for your detailed review : )
I fully agree that the enemies look similar and are hard to distinguish with this camera position, so I plan to rework them and, as you said, make them distinctive from each other.

The only reason why I had to make this decision is that on the 2nd day of development I had a prototype ready without a visual. Since I'm the only one in the team, I had to invent and model the characters myself, but I'm glad that they at least turned out to be at least a little similar to what was originally intended :D
Anyway, I'm planning to rework them and the UI after the game jam is over and make them more accurate
One more time, thanks very much for your review <3, it's very important for me)

Sick game! Music goes hard as all hell!

Ive never really liked the voxel style, but thats all just personal preference so don't mind that :)

The game is really addicting, i felt like playing it over and over but sadly i have a lot to do today so i couldnt go but just a couple rounds. It was a bit annoying to constantly get into a situation where i can't really do anything, but take damage. I think the game would've benefit from additional usable items or weapons, but also, its a jam game so its totally understandable to not have that.

In my opinion, the UI is a bit lacking, the text is too big and ends up looking... strange. Idk how to describe it, and this is really a personal preference thing too but big text in UI just looks wrong to me.

Anyways, great game!

Hi Lennyi, thank you very much for such a great and detailed review, I'm glad you liked the game :)

At the stage of designing the game idea, I often find myself in situations where there was nothing left but to take damage, but after 3-4 games I realized that sometimes the player drives himself into a corner while running away from enemies. Therefore, I decided to make different enemies have different features, so that, knowing from, it would be possible to avoid such a situation.

For example: you find yourself in a situation where a goblin is standing in front of you, but a trickster is standing next to him. Knowing that the trickster, instead of the first 2 attacks, simply jumps over the character, I understand that, and it makes sense to beat the goblin first, and then the trickster, instead of running away

I totally agree with you about graphic design. The fact that I am the only one in my "Team" caused a lot of problems. I can say that I am more of a programmer and tester than a designer or artist. It was also my first experience of creating voxel models :)

I think that over time I will rework the UI towards smaller panels and a more beautiful interface, as well as pick up a suitable color palette

In any case, I'm glad that you played the game and left such a great and useful review, thanks very much again : )

Have a nice day!)

Hi, rgb map!

Actually I hope so, because it's great opportunity for me and my games to become a little more popular

But also i believe that every game in this jam unique and deserves equal attention

But to be honest, I'm really glad that my game causes people's interest and desire to play it

Thank's for your comment!) Have a nice day)

Truly underrated! I will probably be #1 on the leaderboard soon, loved it!
My only critic would be that different enemies with different movement types should be more clear and easy to notice/distinguish. I know they have different models and all but it is hard to notice in the game-flow :)

Edit: I got the #1 and it was much harder than I thought it would. I am pretty sure my previous confusion about enemy models etc might be because the "horse" enemy is not playing any animations, likely a bug. I'd love to play more of this!

Hi, Samet Hope!

Thank you very much for such a detailed review :)

Yes, I agree that the game lacks some kind of tutorial at the beginning with the explanation of the mechanics, but I tried to make everything intuitive (although it didn’t  made it very well due to the time limit)

I will try to fix it in future updates

One more time, thank's for your comment!) Have a nice day)

I like it, the unique enemies really help to make the game interesting. Nice work.

Developer

Hi, sleepyrogue!

Yeah, I tried some variants of  gameplay during development, the best option turned out to be with several enemies, with different behaviors, as they force you to constantly change the tactics of the game and add flexibility to the gameplay
Thank's for your comment!)

Very fun game! I didn't figure out that the shield was there until I read it in the description. Once I did the game made more sense and I was able to get the high-score!
