Interesting trailer you used for this ahah. Really liked the aesthetics used here and the b&w palette. Let's just say I feasted ... just a little bit ... maybe x) Good job!

I don't if it's just me but performance were really bad ans the game was so slow, I have a good configuration so I'm not sure what happens

Nice aesthetics tho, pikmin startfish monster is a good concept

Developer

im very sorry you experienced performance issues. the only bug that i know of that causes performance issues is when the game is being streamed over discord and will also have the same problem with certain other recording software.

otherwise i am afraid that it's a compatibility issue.

Submitted

Ah well that was the case, I'll test it without a stream open then, thank you for the feedback

so I’ve played this twice now and the first time I just wanted around, and then I realise that my little creatures ate humans and I was like no stop that and then I realise that I couldn’t break through certain walls unless they consumed a multiplied so then I was like oh I guess it’s fine then.

And on the second when I tried to make it to the enormous sunflower room where you need 140 little creatures to get in, but I just could not seem to eat enough in the time limit, so I wonder if maybe my strategy still need some refinement

Either way, I love how they move, and I really think they’re so cute and I love the premise and the story πŸ–€

glad you enjoyed my game.

also if you want to get access to the large starfish you only actually need 40 to get to him, this is because the big one has a strength of 100 which is enough to break though the wall if you use both together.

Plottwist!!! I'll have to dive back in

Really creative idea. Love a good villain protagonist.

Monsters look creepy, would like to see more variety in humans :)

This is some really really fun procedural animation. It's lucky that eating people is so entertaining as that's all there is to do. I'd love to see more mechanics and reasons to use Repel instead of Attract.

Oh and the monochrome sea waves are weirdly beautiful.

Enjoyed playing this entry quite a bit. Always a sucker for reverse horror set-ups, haha. The monochrome scheme was nice, even if I wish there was a bit more variety in the tileset, which led to me getting a bit lost considering the building is... well, huge.

Watching the starfish scuttle around was gross in the best way, absolutely loved it. So much of this conceptually was amazing. Great job!

This was a really satisfying experience! While I wasn't really horrified, I was absolutely delighted to repel the star fish apart to multitask and eat people.

My biggest complaint would mostly be the background environment. With the camera so focused, it's a little easy to get lost when the walls look very similar to each other.

I had a blast, would definitely pick this game back up again :D

Developer

thanks a lot, sorry for the lack of visual variety, i would have loved to make more models and sprites if i had more development time.

I really enjoyed the game! The movement and puzzle aspect to it was really entertaining! Watching the creature develop slowly. is super satisfying!

And even though there is not that much story what you offer is interesting, the little people felt so alive! When they ran away it made me think of actual living creatures.

The sound was minimal but it was effective!

Overall great game and very entertaining specially in the mechanics!

Developer

Thank you for playing my game hope you enjoy it.

Had a lot of fun playing this entry. I enjoyed being the monster startfish devouring everything in my path :D So many ways this idea can be expanded on.

Developer

Thank you for enjoying my game. I am not sure if I will work on it much more after the game jam though to expand on it. Unless people really like it.

And rare 'engine', i like it.

Yeah I started learning programming on the processing java API, it's a bit weird but it's how I work best.
