Fun platformer! The mechanics used here work well and the visuals are nice. Do develop this more in the future, would be interesting to see!
This is a nice prototype for a platformer game unfortuantely I think it's not in the theme of this jam
Pretty cool platformer. I liked the visuals and shooting, they were simple yet enjoyable.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback!
Just played and rated your game. Good stuff! :)
Don't undersell this because of the time limit -- it's a pretty neat platformer. I was expecting lots of shooting but definitely preferred lobbing flares everywhere. The lighting effects are definitely the standout here. I'd love to see more places where it's meaningful that you can't light them, etc.
I really appreciate the feedback :) Yeah I'd love to play around more with the lighting and shaders and make the impact more meaningful, potentially with light based puzzles even.
I rated and commented on your game. Good work! :D
This is a good platformer. I quite enjoyed the mechanics and I think they were well made, even if I encountered few bugs like using the dodge and getting stuck inside a wall and after dodging onto a red-platform I didn't die from it (until I jumped). But overall I think it has nice potential, the flare system is really fun too, kinda making your own light along the way. I don't know if you planned the flares to be limited but I quite liked throwing them around so I'd rather them not be limited lol. But anyways, shooting was nice too, right now I think it only lacks the impact. Platforming is simple yet solid, the level design quite highlighted what you can do with the platforming, like using the huge drop with bouncing pad in multiple ways. Lack of time is always understandable, and I assume the lack of time is the reason why there is no UI for health or sound effects for the pickups and more cohered tutorial for the movement mechanics. To be fair though, aside from the dark ambient mood, there was not much "horror" right now.
Good work nonetheless, and I recommend continuing development further ^^ Lot of things were fun right now already.
I very much appreciate the thorough feedback. It's super helpful. I'll definitely look into keeping the flares unlimited while not crashing the game (lol) if I continue development :) Also a tutorial will def be on the list, along with other bug fixes.
I'm gonna play and rate your game at some point today, and I'll be sure to return thorough feedback :D
No problem, I like to game test and stuff so I kinda naturally just write long ass feedbacks. I gotta go back to your game and see if I can crash it with flares now lol
That would be lovely, thanks in advance! ^^ But no need to write thorough feedback, I'd love to hear what ever thoughts and whatnots you had, so no pressure! The game is like 5-minutes max anyways and I'm currently doing some plans to expand it someday lol
