  • The graphics stand out in this point-and-click adventure and have a really endearing, naturalistic style. Creating a progression of several simple puzzle levels is quite a feat. One area that could make the game better is distinguishing between interactable items and scenery to avoid clicking everywhere!

Loved the art and loved the old school point and click feel of it. The posters were glorious, I love the charadesigns too. Kind of a Day of the Tentacle vibe?

It was however a little difficult to know what I was even clicking on, I found the keys by pure luck lmao

Love the art, the aesthetics, and how the player controls the villain instead of a hero. But I spent most of the time clicking on random things in hopes that I would finally solve the puzzle or get an item.

Tweaked the music and the voices a bit and resized scaling for Aspect 10  across the board, fixed a missing cutscene from the final level.

Game Description: Step into the shoes of the Witch, the infamous CEO of a child-pie-making business. You find yourself in a perplexing situation as a child has gone missing in your factory. As the Witch, you must navigate your sinister factory, uncover hidden objects, and solve mysterious puzzles to unlock the secrets hidden within. "Gretel for Dinner" is a point-and-click adventure where confusion and ambiguity are part of the thrill.

Gameplay:

  • The game begins with the Witch standing at the entrance of her factory, surrounded by eerie machinery and child-sized silhouettes.
  • You'll have no idea where to click initially, and that's the whole point. The goal is to create a sense of bewilderment and uncertainty, just as the Witch herself feels.
  • As you randomly click around, you'll stumble upon hidden objects and uncover cryptic clues that provide hints about the missing child's whereabouts.
  • Use these objects creatively, combining them with other items in the room to progress. There's no clear instruction on what to do, which adds to the eerie atmosphere and enigmatic experience.
  • Each level brings you deeper into the factory's labyrinthine secrets, revealing more about the Witch's unsettling past and the true nature of her business.
  • I want to be married to the witch

Storyline: Throughout the game, players gradually unearth the dark story behind the Witch and her factory. You'll discover the motivation behind her actions and the child's mysterious disappearance. As you delve deeper, the narrative unfolds, revealing a tale of desperation, obsession, and an eerie connection between the Witch and the missing child.

Challenges:

  • Puzzles: Solve intricate puzzles by experimenting with various objects you discover. Figuring out the correct combinations is essential for progressing through the factory.
  • Hidden objects: Search every nook and cranny of the factory to find the essential items that will lead you closer to the missing child.
  • Intrigue: Keep the player in the dark, encouraging them to experiment, combine, and explore. The lack of clear guidance mirrors the Witch's own confusion.
  • what the fuck is even suppose to happen in the game, it was just trial and error fr fr

Atmosphere: The game's graphics and sound design create a chilling and unsettling atmosphere. The factory is dimly lit, and eerie, ambient sounds intensify the sense of unease. The sinister environment will keep players on edge as they navigate through the Witch's disturbing world.

Conclusion: "Gretel for Dinner" is a thought-provoking point-and-click adventure game that challenges players to embrace the unknown, explore their surroundings, and piece together the haunting puzzle surrounding the Witch, her factory, and the missing child. With its cryptic storyline and enigmatic gameplay, it offers an eerie and captivating experience where the line between right and wrong blurs, leaving players with more questions than answers. I give it the raiting of "best main character out of point and click games are ass."
