- I loved the commitment to the narrative and the development of a full story that was explored through the journal entries and the interaction with the other cats and spirits. The layout of the house and parallax shadow effect was also very effective in giving the place a haunted vibe!

Game has been updated! Trailer for the update is here:
Super cool game, I do love cats! The perspective in the house is really cool too!
Thanks for the comment! I liked your game as well!
Some of the lighting effects were sort of distracting, like there were objects that were being covered up entirely by the darkness and never visible. Nice 8 way movement animations.
Thanks for the comment! I'll have a post-jam update that makes it so that the furnitures won't block the player's field of vision.
What a twist!
This game has a very fun story! Lots of dialogue too, though the ghost keeps cornering me lol.
Thanks for the comment! Dodging the ghost can be tricky to do, especially when you have collected 7 or more journal entries. If you have collected all of the rubber ducks in the house, it'll slow down the ghost if it gets close to you. You'll have to explore the house thoroughly in order to find the ducks, though.
Great lighting effects and also a cat so 10000/10 from me
Thanks for the comment!
That was adorable, and a good story! Enjoyed that.
Thanks for playing and enjoying my game!
I had a lot of fun playing this. I enjoyed all the kitties' dialogs, uncovering the journal entries, and dodging the spoopy ghosts. I was pretty fond of the mixture of 2d and 3d, it did a good job of making you feel like a lil tiny kitty cat. You made good use of the music you picked for the different moments, and the whole journey felt very inspired. Nice work!
Thanks for the comment!
Cute game with a nice story. Racing with the cat was pretty fun actually, dodging the ghost was pretty easy, which makes the game tense but not too difficult, well played ! And I was caught by surprise by the Doom soundtrack near the end :D
I'm glad that you had a great time!
I enjoyed the story a lot. Great game!
Thanks for the comment!
Ah it was so cute and clever. Really liked that one. Nice visuals, shadows, sounds, story. Absolutely nice entry, GGs!
Thanks for the comment! You have a solid entry in this game jam, too.
*Epic top-down lighting gamedev bro fist*
This is a really cute game, I enjoyed how you tell the story. Great job
Thanks for the comment!
Playing as Max is great fun (I like the 8-way animation), and the story is intriguing, with some very interesting twists. At first, I was a little disappointed by the ghost, but as the story unfolded, I didn’t mind at all, as my attention was focused on the story. The ending is a Warren family easter egg, isn’t it (Conjuring …)? I really enjoyed it!
Thanks for the comment! I've never watched the Conjuring film series, so the Warren family easter egg is probably a coincidence.
The coincidence is really incredible, I really thought that, in the end, Max was Ed Warren. What’s more, it ends with his name, as if it were the logical answer to the whole scenario, or a prequel to Ed Warren’s adventures.
Apart from that, congratulations again on this adorable, sad and stressful game!
I liked your use of the 3d and the shadows/lights in Gdevelop. I still have a hard time making them useful, but the potential is obviously there. Good game, running from the ghost was a bit stressful!
Thanks for the comment! The lights/shadows system in GDevelop is pretty amazing. I instantly fell in love with it when I first started to make games with GDevelop. And yeah, running from the ghost is unnerving once you collect several journal entries and don't have three rubber ducks collected. Collecting all three of them will slow the ghost down significantly if it gets close to you, so it's highly recommended that you do so.
I really enjoyed the story, and I love the cats.
I'm glad you did. Thanks for playing!
Dude I absolutely loved this game. I have nothing bad to say about it. A great game and one of my favourite entries so far.
Thanks! Your game was awesome, too.
I liked the story, I'm partial to cats with magical powers.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game. And thanks for making a playthrough video of my game!
Aw, cats! I was worried something would happen to them, but I got a rather heart-warming ending, so that was nice.
This is a pretty cool game. The chase mechanic creates just enough tension. The story is fun too, I like the way it misleads you not once but twice about which cat you're playing as.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game and the story. Warren may be the main protagonist of the game, but is he just Max's pawn? Is Max trustworthy? Or is the mysterious black cat not really Max but some other cat with mysterious powers? It's a lot to think about if you are interested in the game's lore, which is one of my favorite things to think about when I play a game.
I like the perspective effect and how the story is put together. Cute cats!
Thanks for the comment! Cats are the best. :D
Neat little story game. I really like the perspective you used.
Thanks for the comment!
Had a great time with this. Love how your field of view is limited to only what you would be able to see. Excellent sprite work too!
Thanks for the comment! I had a great time making this game.
