Good game! I really like retro shooters and you executed it pretty well! I think that in the beginning when you don't have a weapon you should throw something at the player to make them feel defenceless against the monsters! Hope you continue this project!
Great game, I liked it. Cool graphics and enemy models. There are a couple of things that could be improved:
1) When moving to the side, the camera immediately changes tilt, I would like a gradual change in degree;
2) Skeletons that hit close have too much health, I would like them to be stronger, but have less health;
3) In a game like this, it seems to me that the jump should be higher (so you can add all sorts of secrets tied to the jump);
4) There are no sounds of jumping and running;
5) The skeleton mages projectile flies too fast. You can make them shoot at the place where the player will be in a second, but make the projectile slower. This will force the player to dooge, and not just run to the side.
Overall I liked it, and I would like more. Good job!
Thanks for input. Balancing difficulty is always tricky and I agree. I did made game a bit harder since it short but at start enemies were even bonier and harder to fight. Jumping is a good idea, mainly tried to mimic Quake player movement. Sounds is my weakest link, I had walking sounds but it was too distracting so had no time to tweak it. I really wish to make more if people like this game so your comment is very encouraging.
Yes, give us more, I'll definitely play!
a complete fps in 7 days is difficult so good work on that! the game's pace is a little sluggish with enemies that feel like that take 2-3 shots too many and the sound for the gun shots doesn't provide much feedback, but the little bits of polish like the rotation on the camera depending on where you're moving were great and i loved the little skeleton models. the hit registration on the projectiles was also seemed totally consistent. cool stuff!
Thank you very much!
