Nice story telling, art, and atmosphere. The lack of BGM was off putting at first but almost seemed appropriate with the story after some time playing (although it could certainly use some BGM). The graphics are terrific, they're what set the tone for the game and the story. The dialogue really does nice a job of telling you a lot of information in a low amount of words, although I left feeling pretty confused about the ending. Also, there are a few grammar mistakes (you're/your) that I couldn't help but notice, and those tend to rip you right out of the experience for a moment. Overall though, great work. It gives the player quite an experience.
Good job on a narrative-focused game! I think the atmosphere for this one was done well - the apathetically morbid tone of the characters was great and the minimal and humorous dialogue made for an amusing contrast to the subject matter. I wasn't quite sure where this was going to go - you obviously had a blast making a creative world within which lurk a range of dark and creepy characters.
For constructive criticism, I think a narrative-focused game probably needs some sort of closure; the ending was anticlimactic and confusing. Moreover some sort of interaction to give the player a sense of agency would enhance the 'on rails' focus of the game. Thanks again for contributing to the SCREAM JAMs and I hope you keep on making a bunch of unique, creepy games on the site!
Good game, atmosphere was real creepy liked the humor. The last conversation was confusing because the character art for the MC changed so much. Really creative, I liked it.
Kinda a surreal setting, I like. And the art is nice too. I reached a point where things just kinda...stopped happening, so I guess it was an ending?
If it was a black screen, yes.
Cool! Just wasn't sure. Definitely like the atmosphere you've got going.
Good, in that case I don't have to ask the same question. Maybe add credits or anything there that tells the player the game is over.
Other than that: Great game! Loved the pixel art and atmosphere :)
A strange, sparse but interesting game about (to me, anyway) the ways we keep repeating things that hurt ourselves. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and art of the game. It has a distinctive style and a sense of humor or play (not sure how to describe it exactly) with it's own setting and rules that give it some charm with its otherwise dark setting and subject matter. It's got me interested enough in the story that I'd love to see what the earlier games are about so I can get a better sense of the characters. Really enjoyed it!
