I really loved this game, it really made me feel like a call connector, the perfect power fantasy... the music, the art style, the sound effects... everything matched perfectly.  Sometimes it felt a little unfair when the cables were obscuring a name.

As soon as I saw this game, I knew it would be a contender! It has a simple yet challenging game loop, art that serves the game well, and a fantasy that's amazing! Great job!

If I were to add to this

I struggle to find things to add to this game. If I were to expand it, I would probably add conversations that you could listen to. I might also inject a substory, kind of like how Papers, Please tells a story without ever coming out and saying anything.

Game Design

I'm going to be using Jonas Tyroller's framework for fun for these reviews, so you can watch his video for more context around it. My day job is looking for ways to improve things, so just because I offer a lot of opinions on that, don't think that I didn't like the game. :D

Impact

There's a lot of good impact in this game. The small sound of plugging in the cables, the ring, and people talking all give weight to what you are doing. When a call completes, the bell is a pleasing sound that rewards the player. The post-game screen helps the player to decompress and examine how well they did.

Challenge

I thought the challenge curve was especially good in this one. The first two shifts are pretty easy going, but by the time you get to five or six, it's a frantic race to get them connected. I like how the names persist across the shifts, so that time spent memorizing the places in the earlier shifts pays off later.

Fantasy

I am jealous of the fantasy this game is able to conjure. From the game card on the itch.io page, I can see what the game is going to be. The title screen throws me into the era. The music is exactly what I would expect to listen to while I am waiting for callers. Everything in the game adds to the fantasy, and I think that even with the other strong points, this is the reason this game is so great!

I absolutely loved this game, what a treat. The art style, sound FX and music really bring this together and make you feel like you're a part of that world.

Playing this made me think...with the growing fast-paced and frenetic gameplay, could you potentially sneak a '30s style detective story in this by "listening in" on certain calls and piecing information together?

Great game, I love the concept, art style and music.

There’s no much to say other than it’s perfect.

Great job and keep it up!

That was amazing my friend! It was difficult but not impossible! Stylish and on point, I could tell what I had to do in the game instantly when I opened it without looking at the tutorial at all (which I also did later and yeah it was a good explanation hehe). There is not much I can point out, because honestly I think you nailed it, but there is one thing I can tell you didn't forgive in this game...MY KIND! THAT'S RIGHT! THE NON-ORGANISED PEOPLE! (Am joking by the way haha)

As I was playing the game, around the third level, I noticed how fast I had to move to pick up the calls, so I decided instead to pick each speaker in a line from left to right and keep alternating to be fast enough to completed it but...the top image happened haha. which is where the only add on I had in mind was..maybe when you right click the "connectors" they would instantly go back to their base to make the player's life a bit easier haha.

Overall man, that was amazing, It'll be surprised if you don't do well in this jam ay!

Like I said before in the Discord group - I loved this game.

The sounds, the art, the feel, the difficulty ; its brilliant. I'ts a little awkward when Anton calls me sweety, but I'll take the compliment.

I'll be very surprised if you don't take home the gold medal this week.

Great job!
