SO. As a huge board gamer, I love that this submission is a strategy game. The idea of creating a full, scaling campaign with upgrades and varied enemy types was definitely ambitious.

My big criticism here is that I didn't feel like I was making a lot of meaningful choices. For all the path-finding, unit types, and cover mechanics, there wasn't a whole lot of reason to use them? There's some element missing at the core of the system that would bring all these ideas together and give them a reason to exist. Putting it simply, the gameplay needs some work.

Still, there are a lot of cool things going on here. The playful animations and art are fun and Sokpoppy. The frogs are goofy and weird. The whole idea of gnomes vs. frogs is silly and fun and I like it a lot. Thanks for making the game!

Hey! Thanks for the feedback, I agree with your criticism :)

I think I'm going to work the next few weeks on getting the core gameplay down a bit better and connecting all the things I put in.

I'm thinking of making an energy system for the gnomes so the player needs to use all their available gnomes more.

And adding things like a bonus for connecting 6 or more gnomes.

If you want I can update you when i'm dropping the new demo, i'd like your feedback :)!

Pretty funky lol. I thought it was an interesting battle mechanic but it felt like it did not have any benefit from just attacking with one unit at a tile, unless I'm missing something? Maybe this is already planned but it would be cool if the attack would have a combo multiplier or energy savings so that you would be encouraged to chain guys together. Maybe even the pattern of the congo line could add some unique bonus (like drawing spells in 'hoco poco').

Hi thank you for playing!

I understand your feedback;

I wanted to add a energy mechanic to the gnomes so you can only use them once every turn; meaning the player needs to create complex grids.   But I kinda ran out of time.

In the future I also want to add things like combo's, /status effects and spells which will hopefully make the actual mechanic more interesting than just batteling with one dude!
