pre-jam devlog (optional)
About 2 months of work - Base functionality done (Meditation game v1, zone locations, Crinchure locations, risk decision buttons, pick-a-Crinchure, v1 dex, v1 Crinchure get screen) and the music was mostly done during this point!

No affinity, no ending, no napping game, most of it was a broken mess and completely untested, polish was low and meh.

Post-Jam Devlog | Post-Mortem (optional)
Hmm I'll probably add a full post-mortem later but for now.. I learned a ton about publishing to web, even though this is the 3rd or 4th time I learned so much about saving and file size (and what not to do).

Wow a very interesting game idea! I've never played anything like it haha

  • Innovation – From what I've seen/played it seems very unique!
  • Fun – It is vey text heavy and very overwhelming at first.  I wonder if there is a better way to start the game tutorial with more scaffolding that goes step by step with less text on the screen (like you don't need to show ALL the buttons at the start perhaps?) Reading does get a bit tedious.
  • Graphics – The little creatures are very cute!! It's a very UI heavy game, and the UI is charming with all the colors, but it does kinda feel like a hot mess haha.  I'm not sure about this genre of heavy UI games, but generally I follow the 60-30-10 rule (the UI is 60% color A, 30% color B, and 10% a contrasting highlight color) to feel more professional.  Not sure if that would work in this game... but I would look into a color theory that would make it feel more cohesive.  Check out some color pallets from Adobe Color or Lospec.
  • Audio – Simple and cool, perhaps some more ambient sounds? Wind, creature noises, etc. (overall it was super loud even turning down the volume - I'm wearing headphones with my Windows audio at 50%)
  • Polish – I can tell a lot of work has gone into the code and systems and it all seems to work well!! Great job~

Great job completing a fun game!  Please check out my game if you like Metroidvanias or platformers :D

Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to leave such thorough feedback! I think I had a little too much fun throwing rainbows on everything and I think it'll look much better with some color cohesion so I'll take another crack at it!

Tutorialization feels like something I always struggle with so I appreciate the advice! Thanks again, I'll be sure to check out your game; love me some metroidvanias!
