I loved the graphics and the ambiance!

Really cool movement, I don't think I've played anything before with this sort of downwards wall jump.

Nice! I wish controls were a bit smoother, more rapid maybe.  Felt a bit laggy, but as I understand these slow movements were part of the vibe.
But cool idea nonetheless!

Nice atmosphere and arts! Simple but effective!

I agree with @Palin_drome. There really should be an indicator that shows when you’ll take fall damage. And yeah, checkpoints would be nice. :)

Great job! I like your game, the sparks while sliding look cool and it feels satisfying to move with the simple controls, but while I'm here I have a few suggestions if you decide to update your game after the jam.

  • Space out your tutorial a little more it is almost all on screen at once, and that can make it hard to take it all in.
  • Add an indicator (maybe a red haze/filter) to show what falls will kill because it is really hard to tell as it is.
  • Add checkpoints, I personally am not good enough to beat your game in a reasonable amount of time.
  • You don't need to put credit for assets used in game after the tutorial, I'm sure the people who you credit appreciate it but you already have them credited on the game page. I would only give credit that way to highlight a team member's work.

Thanks! You raise some valid points:

  • The tutorial was the first thing I added, in tandem with the features. It's certainly too much as is, I'll revise it post-jam.
  • I knew I would get some critics about not having checkpoints. I initially planned for them. For the jam, I maybe should have. But for the game "idea" I had in mind, they felt wrong. I'll think about it a bit more.
  • I did add the credits in-game before I added them on the page. I should have done the other way around - my mistake.
  • You're absolutely right about the indicator. I will definitely try to add that post-jam.

I really appreciate this kind of feedback!

OMG I love it!

Very engaging! I loved the simple aesthetics you went with, and you don't see much top to bottom 2d platformers, so thanks for making it this way. GG

It's sooo Challenging, and a bit frustrating. But good frustration, "I want to beat this frustration". I stopped right now because I know I could spend a load of time on it.

Its a simple concept but it works and i 'm pretty sure there is a way to cheese it with the walls on the sides.

I like the idea for the game but I had a hard time controlling the character. I'd be very interested to see a speedrunning strat for breaking a freefall with a wall grab
