This could really be a cool way to learn basics of languages. It's a bit confusing at the beginning to understand what the words are for.

Web version's also there now. I like strategy/tactics games, but the controls are a bit strange. The game claims "target selected" - but the unit does not move toward the target. Graphics are very nice, so is the music. I'll try it again in a bit - maybe I get the hang of it.

Good physics - check. One button - check. Not frustrating - check. Still difficult to master - check. Certainly one of the best games I've encountered in this jam!

"The developer has not uploaded a game yet..." - there's nothing to play currently.

Cool idea. But I'm sorry I cheated on my second run - you can just spam all 3 key and will easily win that way.

Amazing game. It's so evil to fall down half the tower - I love it. My game is "similar" but it's the way down and uses 2 buttons. You managed one button - and a more "natural" penalty - well done!

Good game idea, but either the character should move a bit slower. Or the hooks should be easier to target, at least at the bottom of the tower. That would add a level of progression without frustrating the player at the beginning.

Nice, but gets too hard for me too quickly. The suite-cases are just for score? Or do they do something?

Thanks for your feedback! I agree, I changed it a bit and the character now "breaks" faster - especially when the reversing the direction.

"Funny" interpretation of the theme. Good graphics. Albeit the color difference between allies and foes is not very strong.

What are your ideas on progression? Would you add upgrades, more enemy types? More "eaters"?

Wow, that was indeed helpful. I'm still a bit clumsy (that's on me) but it makes a lot more sense now. Thanks!

Nice music and pretty unique setting. Too bad you ran out of time, this could be a very fun game.

So pretty and atmospheric. But I can't figure out the jumping mechanic. It seemingly reacts randomly to my second jump. And if it does, it seems either to jump only a small bit or a huge bit. It's a bit frustrating.

I'm also not sure if the "up-arrows" are related? I could double jump without them, but it "seems" that when I capture one, I can jump higher?

I like the style, I'll definitely try this again.

I love rocket jumping, so this fits. Sometime the jump is a bit too high,  so I can't figure out where to land and ... restart.

You're welcome. I will also try to add gamepad support, although I don't know how many of us will use that.

Thanks! You raise some valid points:

  • The tutorial was the first thing I added, in tandem with the features. It's certainly too much as is, I'll revise it post-jam.
  • I knew I would get some critics about not having checkpoints. I initially planned for them. For the jam, I maybe should have. But for the game "idea" I had in mind, they felt wrong. I'll think about it a bit more.
  • I did add the credits in-game before I added them on the page. I should have done the other way around - my mistake.
  • You're absolutely right about the indicator. I will definitely try to add that post-jam.

I really appreciate this kind of feedback!

That car is made of rubber! Nice game for continuously improving your time. You could add some basic sound when bumping into the wall (I did all the f'ing time). What is the scavenging part here?

It's a just a personal preference of mine. The dodging is actually pretty clear. But for example for turrets Id like to strafe. But I "worked around" the issue by just flying towards and aiming at turrets. I would zoom past them and kill them. Good enough for me.

Nice animations for the bot. A car instead of a bot would have fit too. Especially the movement and braking reminded me of a drifting car.

The breaking could be a bit more "strong". The sound and animation suggest a quick stop, but I still had quite a bit of momentum left.

You need to build the game in Godot and upload the built zip. I guess you could still do it.

The graphics! How cute! And how dare you hide such a great soundtrack in the How to Play menu.

I had some small gameplay issues (but I'm playing on Linux so I'll ignore them).

It's quite a bit more complex than it initially appears to be.

Wow, what a well polished game in such a short time. Soundtrack rocks. While I like the dash, I think I'd prefer strafing. But the less controls the better. Good variety of enemies as well, and different strategies to defeat each one - I like it.

Phew, a game in which I struggle to even move. But very inventive. While I liked the movement, a few tweaks to help a long would be nice. The music and atmosphere creeps me out, you could easily make this into a horror game.

A game from around 25 years ago. You also had to feed on souls to survive.

It looks so simple! And yet was pretty challenging.

Besides Desert Strike, this also has some "Return Fire" vibes, also a pretty old game. I like the basic strategic elements. I'm an avid fan of the Battle Zone series, so building stuff in addition to shooting stuff would be cool.

(Also: Did you rip of an old Italo-western soundtrack?)

Nice one. I had some problems with the player "wall jumping" when pressing space directly in front of a wall.

Nice atmosphere overall, and a real good fit for the theme (Reminds me a little bit of soul reaver).

30.175! The music really drives one on.

Amazing music. I feed kind of bad to attack the pacifistic robots. The teleporting mechanics is a nice idea, but got me a bit confused at times.

Nice light-shadow effects! Also, after the boot message, I actually tried in a later run to take the boots immediately. And it works, and no message appears - I would have forgotten that detail :D

Nice boss rush game! But what the heck is the second boss? Look like a pile of poo :)

Nice! It's a small world. Good luck for your entry!

A really good looking game. And a very innovative idea.

2:35.67!

This is really cool! I don't think I will get a good time here. It's just too much fun diving in and out of the "ground".

I don't know why, but it reminds me a lot of the game "exo one". But your game has far better controls.

You could have different materials, maybe some kind of "wall" that would require you to build up a lot of speed to punch through.  The last level shows you got some really cool ideas on how to build upon this simple concept, congratz!

Nice music. This is a really hard game. I like the physics based puzzles. First I was stuck a bit at the early beginning but enough nudging seems to help a lot.

I don't get the dashing logic apparently. Sometimes I can dash 2 times in a row, sometimes my dashes are ignore. I couldn't really progress in the third (or forth?) level.

Is there sound (I could hear none). I like the graphics, really good looking!

Nice little shooter. Physics sometimes seem a bit off, I could shoot through wall sometimes. Also, the monsters sometimes seem to cross walls.

Dashing seem so make the whole wall passable, which is a nice gimmick. With bullets and enemies passing through too.  I also like the kind-of-CRT-monitor effect.

Please add a way to restart, I died faaaairly often - and refreshing the page all the time is a bit annoying.

I think the wall thing is pretty unique!

I somehow had no sound whatsoever. I couldn't yet reach the final platform. Will try a bit more.

Hey, I used your character (albeit uglified) in my game jam submission: https://bytekeeper.itch.io/scavenger-drop

Happy you liked it. Did you find the difficulty ok? Or too easy/hard?

Thanks! Sorry, I already found someone in the meantime.
