Loved the game and the controls

Nice feeling. It's really easy to control the player.

Great game! The idea, graphics and level design all feels great. Awesome job!

There's a lot to love here, the asthetic of this game is great, there is some really good juice, movement attacking and dodging feels really nice. I also really like the space invaders references. Nice stuff!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

You are the first person to notice, even my friend didn't say anything about the reference!

Wow, what a well polished game in such a short time. Soundtrack rocks. While I like the dash, I think I'd prefer strafing. But the less controls the better. Good variety of enemies as well, and different strategies to defeat each one - I like it.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, the "dash" is actually a "dodge" and makes you temporarily invulnerable and increases acceleration (speed you can change direction) but I can see now I didn't do enough to convey to the player that's what it does! Lol.

It's a just a personal preference of mine. The dodging is actually pretty clear. But for example for turrets Id like to strafe. But I "worked around" the issue by just flying towards and aiming at turrets. I would zoom past them and kill them. Good enough for me.

The dodge mecanic is owesome :D You've got a really well designed game. I love how clear what to do and how to do it is. The upgrades keep comming. This is great

I really appreciate that the game makes it clear where to go. The dodge mechanic is also really fun, though I think the dodge meter should somehow be visible on the player model itself, rather than only on the edge of the screen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, an indicator on the player is a good idea I didn't think of, otherwise you have to look away from the player if nothing on the player indicates it.

This game has a really nice flow.

Thank for including me <3

Omg this is amazing. Super fun and well polished!

This was one of the best games I played! Good job!

Oh my god this is extremely polished for the time we had, really good job!! I loved the gameplay and controlls felt super satisfying in general. Graphics were amazing too!

Developer

Thank you, the graphics were actually all made with SVGs which is a newer feature in Godot and makes them infinitely resizable. This was part of a challenge for myself to make all the art using Inkscape.

INSANELY GOOD. If this doesn't win the jam I will be shocked

Developer

:O Wow thanks, but I wouldn't be so gung ho there are plenty of other games. I'll be sure to check out your game when I regain my mental energy after my poor sleep schedule.
