Looks like there are some incompatibilities with Emacs 28 fyi: Symbol’s function definition is void: take

Developer

Thanks for letting me know! I wasn't able to test it on earlier versions. In fact, the function "take" was introduced on Emacs 29.1.

wasn't loading at first and then remembered I was using emacs 30 by default :D

The game played great, loved the spells, the AI was running one of my pieces down for a minute there; certainly something I'll keep around for fun afterward this jam too.

Developer

Thank you!

Wow that was crazy cool. Loved the game. Everything works so well. Only the sound were killing me xD. I am not sure if it is possible once you have entered the spell menu to not cast a spell, that would be one nice addition.

Developer

Thank you! Indeed, once in the spell menu, you have to cast a spell. Thanks for the suggestion!

Holy hell! This is very impressive! The AI was good, the graphics were good and the game really played like a game, and not just an emacs thingy - very cool

Developer

Thank you!

This was my introduction to Fairy Chess, and what a fantastic introduction it was! The spell cards were delightfully scary. I’m also extremely impressed this is in Emacs Lisp - I’ll have to study the source code later since I want to know about all the APIs you used. Nice!

The AI also put up a good fight. I’m so impressed at how well put together this is.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad the AI behaved well :)
