Really like this, it's so simple but sometimes that's all you need, all I thought it needed is a hold function to drag along the notes.
Thank you for your comment. Just now fixed this stick dragging issue.
Magic! Thanks :)
Great port of the classic toy! I’m pretty sure I had at least one of these as a child, so I especially love the hand and mallet. I also wish that holding down the mouse would play notes as you drag, maybe with a slightly different sound. That would complete the experience for me. Nice work!
Thank you for your comment. Now you can play notes while your mouse is down. Have fun :)
Very fun little project! Using actual photos and an actual hammer (is that what that's called? ahah) is some very nice skeuomorphism (yeah I just wanted to use a fancy word).
I noticed the notes had a pretty long delay between when I clicked and when the sound played, but switching from my laptop to my desktop to check fixed it, so it might just be a problem with my laptop being slow.
Thank you for comment.
To be honest I had to google what the hell is "skeuomorphism" 😀 Now I know it
I also tested the performance on my Raspberry Pi 4B and you are right. It has some delay during the playing. The web page performance was a little bit poor thanks to the embedded videos. I replaced these with simple links to improve the site performance. I think that caused the performance issue.
Love the hand/beater interface thing! :) Does what it says on the tin. Would be nice if it did that thing I usually do because I can't play my 'glockenspiel' (Apparently xylophone is the wooden one, but I call my metal one a xylophone anyway) where you hold down the beater and move left and right to make a dream flashback sound.
Thank you for your comment! Maybe the Glockenspiel also will be implemented in the future. I think you mean this one:
