Played this game with my 8 year old (who I'm trying to force love into IF), we both loved the graphics, the flow, and the content of the story. I particularly loved the theme of loneliness and friendship. great work!
I'm so pleased that it worked for your 8-year-old! There is no tougher audience. That was just about the demographic I was trying to target, so I'm thrilled that it is hitting the mark. Thank you!
You can get a feather in this game, do we need to say more?
Wow this game is so cute, love the text and descriptions! I think it's a perfect game for someone playing a text adventure for the first time.
This was a super cute and fun little game!
Consider using the itch feature to embed your game though. I almost completely missed the URL in the description and missed out on playing it completely (I’m not looking to download anything)…
Thanks, Josh! I had a headache trying to get the game both downloadable and in play online form, as itch seems to allow projects to be one or the other, and many online interpreters don't support images in Inform. So with my limited technological capabilities, using Borogove and providing a link was the best I could do. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I got it working right now with 0 friction, see the README.md file on my game page (you do have to scroll to the bottom).
The edit UI says:
That seems to be true in my experience. All I had to do was attach a second file (after the first HTML file that’s played online) and tell it the file type… It doesn’t seem to surface the download on the submission page (which may be what you were fighting with) - but as soon as someone clicks thru to the actual game page, there it is at the bottom…
That is kind of annoying though. 😕
Anyways, maybe this helps!
