Pretty fun game! The wasd controls didn't work for me and I could only use the arrow keys but other than that good job!

Oops! It appears I forgot to replace the default character movement (via UI actions) with the custom movement actions.

Thanks for the comment :)

Really fun concept for a game. I loved the little godot bullets that were being fired at me, and the way the character reacted whenever actions in game happened. The sound effects and music also worked very well, and it made me want to go back and play some classic arcade shooters!

I found it really difficult to make it between checkpoints though, as when I took it slow I ran out of time and going fast just overwhelmed me with the bullets. The plane was just a bit too slow compared to the bullets, and I think maybe having a clear point hitbox ala TouHou would work better with the bullet patterns from the enemies.

I think having more fuel would be useful, because you don't get a lot of slack in reaching each checkpoint as it is right now. or maybe a boost powerup that gives you extra speed for a while!

I think some animations for the bombs would have been good too, but with all the features in the game it's impressive how much you already did in a week!

I did also like that you gave powerups at the start to show what they did. Great way to teach the player how to play <3

Thanks for your review, lexie_t!

I'm glad you liked our concept and the char reactions :)

I agree with you in all points, especially on the hitbox part - I think everyone on the team had a different idea about how the player collider should work, and how visible it should be. A smaller and more visible hitbox would allow for more precise (and deliberate) maneuvers through such dense patterns - but I lost the vote :P

A bit more time - especially on the first level (well... there only is one so far^^) - would definitely help and ease some of the pressure!

Cheers!

very cool visuals and sound, lots of fun to dodge obstacles - interesting attack patterns. appreciated the variety of attacks available as well

Hi stiggzz22! Thanks for your review and compliments :)

the design and overall look of the game is very impressive. i think you captured the arcade-y feel very well.

the gameplay is good, but difficult at parts. the lack of fuel near the beginning makes the first section fairly hard to get through. also getting hit by more than one bomb at once kinda screws you due to the lack of invincibility frames. like 3 AM mentioned, some extra lives would have been nice.

regardless, i enjoyed this game quite a bit; it was a pretty cool shoot-em-up. well done with this!

Thanks for your review and feedback, stadam!

Invul-frames are actually on the TODO list, but we ran out of time and never implemented them ^_^

I like the old school arcade style, as well as the anime pilot. Nice aesthetic, though I do wish I could see more of the play area.

Very difficult game, I wish I had more armor / health for my plane. But great job! :)

Hey there 3 AM Games, thanks for your comment!

Glad you enjoyed the aesthetics - and while I'm glad the game posed a challenge, I hope it was still enjoyable ^_^

Cheers!
