Really fun and addictive on the point that makes you keep trying till you beat the final level but quite an heavy punishement to always go back to the beginning
I think that if you put some sound and improve the art it will get even better

Awesome first submission. The concept and use of control was quite interesting, I also liked how you gave the player a chance to look over the level each time, it really added to the experience. I thought it brutal that it immediately restarts when you died. That's pretty heavy punishment. A solid game and I'd believe it to be far more engaging and addictive if you were to improve the sprites, add audio and add some way to gauge progress, like a level number or score.

Pretty cool mechanic, I enjoyed this one a lot! The graphics are simple but they communicate what's needed. I do feel that it's a bit too punishing being sent back to the first (or sometimes second?) level when you fail. This is a really solid game though, nice job!

Really fun game! I wish there was some audio and maybe an options menu but that's just being picky. I like the game mechanic it's really interesting and fun to play - well done on ya game!! :)

Now that I am able to play the game, it is a game that comfortably meets the requirements as defined in the brief. A unique take the "hold space to go up" movement style although I do think that some more attention here and there would be nice.

At one point, failing at a level could send you 5-6 levels back, meaning that failure is punished heavily. If this is intentional, you may want to consider how much you set players back on failing a level; If it isnt intention, look at your code closely and play test for bugs etc. Some graphical improvements would have been nice rather than basic shapes and text, even if it is rough around the edges. Finally, consider how you export the game, in terms of the quantity of files. Is it possible to have an all-in-one application?

All in all, a solid submission with some nice attention to level design and movement. Some more tweaks and improvements here and there would go a long way to making the experience more enjoyable.

Now changed it to be an application thanks for letting me know.

this loads into the gamemaker workshop and not the exe, but the game itself is fun a tad annoying that after death have to completely restart and am not quite sure that the character is jumping?

This is not an application. The .yyz file is a compressed project file, you need to export this properly.
