Nice! Gotta love asteroids, never gets old hah. Nice to see someone using GameMaker, underrated engine imo.
Nice choice for the sprites, like to the way they look, took me a moment to realise that the asteroids were 3d, but honestly I actually quite like the look, a similar look for the ship might be nice, though I do like the look of the ship as well.
I think some nice additions would be: SFX/Music, and an effect for the asteroids getting hit to help confirm that you've hit them.
I do think that technically having mouse movement AND mouse click is technically two inputs, however this is something you could easily solve maybe by either having the ship spin constantly and press the space bar to shoot or have the ship shoot constantly and press the space bar to spin.
Either way, fun game!
A very cool game design, always loved geometry wars so a stationary version was great fun!
Glad to see on the menus that scoreboards would be coming soon as a game like this is exactly the sort of thing you want to compete over!
Was going to get a nice screenshot of my score but didn't realize it would give me a game over screen so i missed my chance to get it!
A soundtrack and sound effects would have been very cool and kept it a little more interesting but then again you can't hear anything in space anyway!
If i am completely honest though both a mouse moment and a click seems like two inputs to me which is specifically against the rules.
I think you could have easily avoided this issue by just having the ship constantly shoot maybe and just have the single input to spin the space ship!
Overall really fun and would defiantly come back to try it out again if more was added to it in the future!
I really like it, a simple concept executed without any real issues (at least that I can see!)
Adding some sound effects would be nice, and I'm not super sold on the mix between 2D and 3D graphics, but imagine those are both down to time constraints so good job!
