Really cool game. I love how the controls force you to prioritize between attacking and running away. The health/losing weapons mechanic is also really awesome. I finished all 3 levels and liked the difficulty, but it is hard to escape once enemies have ganged up on you. On the other hand, this pressure makes it more interesting and intense once you are close to finishing a level, because you really need to think about which enemies to attack and when. It's rewarding to get the final kill and escape while being surrounded.

Good audios and visuals! Feels very classic. One problem I ran into is that enemies could shoot at me from off screen and I couldn't see them to shoot.

Developer

Appriciate the feedback, would have liked to add a hud marker to show nearby enemies but didnt have enough time or the know how. will look into it for the future

Developer

for anyone playing or who has played this game. some feedback on the difficulty/weather or not you reached the end would be great :)

I really liked the visuals and the music. The gameplay is simple and fun. The only thing I would suggest is a change of controls and a zoomed out camera. Controlling the direction the ship moves with the mouse makes it hard to turn and collect pieces that break off. Great job overall!

Developer

thank you for the feedback, im continuing to work on the game even though the jam has ended. i did often notice watching my friends try it that the peices would sometimes be hard to collect. looking at ways i can change the controls to fix this currently :)

Collecting the missing part of the ship is clearly the main feature, thats a really fun part (when it's not out of bounds xD) Clearly simple and fun gameplay.

thank you! Sorry about the gun going out of bounds, this was noticed during testing but I didn't have time to fix it before the game. Planning on adding an upgrade system between levels one of which being a magnet that pulls your parts back together

This was a ton of fun! The gameplay loop is a bunch of fun and losing your guns as you take damage and having to recollect them is really cool. This looks nice, plays nice, and feels nice. Awesome job!

thank you i really appriciate the feedback :)

I'm curious, how much of this was created during the Jam?

Developer

100% of this was created during the jam, save for the background which was an asset which im pretty sure is allowed. i can send you my unity files for the game if youd like, im sure they have date stamps on them. i do appriciate that though :) worked very hard on this as not much else to do right now

No need, I believe you! My group also made everything in the three days (well, minus a few borrowed assets for tiles and overworld features). Creating everything yourself makes the game feel more like an achievement. Glad someone else understands that!

Developer

thanks man i really appriciate it! just played your game and was shocked to see all those weapons and then a boss fight on top of it in nonly three days!

Yeah, it was a grind for sure. Our team spread was two coders and two pixel artists so we were able to pump out sprites while still scripting things together.

Great job with the visuals. Adding the recoil was a great idea.
