How did you choose to implement the Theme: Alien Infiltration in your game?
Followed in The Dark takes place in a space station that is being invaded by a parasitic alien species who has the ability to take control of the crew members and transform them into monsters.
The player does not know from the crew member's appearance if he is possessed or not, needing the player to verify instead if the crew member is agressive or passive.
Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
I tried to implement the first bonus challenge (They Are Among Us) as a gameplay mechanic. I wanted the player to distrust the crew members, so I made it a main functionnality of the alien IA, where it would take control of the crew members to attack the player.

I liked it. The sounds are good. The station becomes infected gradually, first you see how the alien climbs into the ventilation. And then the infected themselves appear. But unfortunately I couldn’t find the 12th generator. I walked around all the rooms three times...
Thank you for the feedback! I really wanted the player to be able to see the infestation of the station by the aliens, so I made sure to slowly transform the crew into the infected.
As for the generators, I though of putting their positions on the maps around the stations but I though it could ruin the exploration aspect, if I see that it's a recurring issue, I might go with the original plan.
Thanks a lot for playing!
It is possible to implement it in the game so that the captain gives a hint where to find a generator that is not turned on. I think it would not have much impact on the overall explore. It would take a long time for the player to approach the captain every time. In this case, the player would prefer to explore everything himself first.
That could indeed be an interesting way to approach the issue, I might look into it!

Really loved the game, as I was getting lost around the station I was wondering if the crew members were actually becoming aliens and I was happily surprised to discover they where.
I really enjoyed the little logs with messages from the crew, it makes the experience more immersive and I felt like I was wondering an actual space station and not just playing a videogame, so kudos for that.
The only thing that frustrated me a little was the lack of a map. I know there are maps scattered along the walls, but not being able to turn the flashlight off meant that when I got close to inspect the maps any detail would get lost in the brightness of the wall against my flashlight.
But, honestly, I enjoyed every bit of it, congrats on such a cool game.
Big thanks for the feedback! Really happy that you ended up enjoying the experience, even though everyone ended up dead! The maps where a last minute addition so it might indeed be hard to read, I'll go check to see if I can add a light toggle!
