You took my beer!

I really like the presentation of this game, the contrast between the creepy atmosphere and Jeese's non-stop yapping is pretty funny. I also really like the stereotypical look of the aliens, it gives a good 80's game vibe (with way better graphics). The final fight at the end was also a pretty big surprise but it got a big chuckle out of me so good job on that front.

My main issue is that there is no way to look back on the controls, I had to replay the game again because the camera died and I was stuck with a black square in the middle of the screen. There's also some controls that could be more intuitive, such as E to pick up things, I think Left-Click would be more intuitive personnaly.

A pretty funny game with stereotypical aliens that ends in big fight twist. Congrats!

Indeed it works, congrats on the update!

Personnaly, I like the environment and atmosphere, being chased by an alien in an underground parking lot is a scary concept, especially with the lack of lighting in the environment. Forcing the player to leave the elevator to go the car and the alien ambushing the player works well, so that was a great update.

However, once I grab the boots, I get lost on what I have to do. I can kill the alien, but nothing happens after that, if it's supposed to be the end of the game, there is no end screen. (That's okay, it's just a lack of information that messes me up)

If you are still able to update the project, I think changing the font would help, it's hard to equip the boots because it's hard to know which key to press because of the font (is it 1 or I, I was not sure for a while). Also, adding other steps after getting to the car would help with clarification.

It was way better, keep it up.

Liked the story and conclusion of this game a lot! I really like how there is no set-ending, you get to choose how the ending will play out with the information you have gathered around the crew and the emails. The dialogue is also interesting, it sells the idea of different factions having secret members on the crew and these factions being at war with each other inserts some great dilemmas about what to say and what to keep secret.

My only issue would be the use of visions early on (when John's body is discovered) but the idea being dropped later, maybe I missed some scares but nothing else like that happened to me later on.

I really enjoyed this game, I hope the idea is expanded more in the future!

(Also : Bonus point for also having a crew member called John being found dead)

Really liked the alien in this one, I think the idea of it lighting up when it spots you and being completly dark otherwise really worked on me, you could just spot the faint outline before the alien spotted you. I also like the story concept and figuring out why the player is alone is an interesting mystery to solve. The atmosphere is also a highlight, having the dark environment with a few lights works great with the already hard to spot alien.

My main issues personnaly is the rate of how quickly the alien seemed to spawn in my playthrough, I'd lose the alien by entering the barn only for the alien to spawn in front me 10 seconds later. It made for a lot of running for a little time of puzzle solving (does not help that the alien itself is slower than the player, so it's not a treat as long as you sprint).

There was also some issues with the physics, I had an hard time leaving the house in the beginning because the chairs would not cooperate, I think simply having the ability to pick up chairs would have helped.

I don't want to sound negative :'), it's just I wanted to mention some issues that I felted really empered an amazing alien concept and atmosphere. It's a really tense game with a terrifying alien and atmosphere that got a little tonned down because I spent the majority of my playthrough holding s and shift.

Really amazing game, hope my comment does not come has a little too negative!

I really like the ambiance of the game and the visuals, I think it really is it's strong suit but I feel like the game lacks a little bit of gameplay. It's a personal preference but I ended up just following the objectives until I got the jumpscare at the end.

I think the use of dialogue in addition to the sunset is a great way to add tension to the game, knowing that something is gonna get agressive eventually puts a great feeling of dread to the rest of the game. I think that adding a little more sounds to the environment could have helped though, maybe a little forest ambiance or noises heard outside the house to sell the idea that the intruder is really close to you.

The only major personnal complaint I would have is the message at the end, I think saying "Forgot about your flashlight" works great has a way to sell to the player how they messed up, however,it removes the hability for the player to figure it out by themselves. It's a personnal issue so you don't have to listen to it but I think it was worth bringing up.

Otherwise great job on making such a tense experience!

In the end, the game referenced my PC's name, maybe I imagined it, I did play it pretty late, so maybe I imagined it :/

That could indeed be an interesting way to approach the issue, I might look into it!

Did not expect a game with fourth-wall breaks! I think the atmosphere is the strongest suit has it starts really calm, but with the body and the voice-acting, the game gets tense really quick! I do think the dialogue is hard to understand however.  The minigame goes for a little too long, I think having less inputs to enter and less time would have made it a little bit better, especially if you end up failing it and have to restart again.

The monster in the second section got stuck, which is probably not wanted, the microphone also did not seem to do anything. If it's bugged, I hope you can fix it so I can give an accurante rating!

It was a fun experience, congrats!

I did not expect a deduction game in this jam to be honest! Although I like the music and the visuals, I think they do not mesh really well together, I the music is a little much too light-hearted for the visual style, and seeing the endings of the game, I think the visuals are a little too serious for the vibe you were going for.  (Unless the contrast was wanted, in that case, good job!)

For the gameplay, I think finding the notes and using the information works well enough (although some notes are pretty hard to find) but I wish there was an extra layer to the house exploration, either by having an enemy in the house or more goofy stuff (something like a haunted house)!

I really like the concept here! So I hope you'll push the idea or the visuals further!

Personnaly, I think that this a great concept that could have gone with a little bit more playtesting! I think the idea of spying on the other villagers is really cool and the wandering aliens add a little bit of tension and stress as you have to find the impostor. I also think the idea of hiding the outside while inside a house works great at rising tension (especially since I got jumpscared by one of the ghost while leaving one house).

However, I feel like my enjoyement depended on which character I played, I started with Betty which seems to simply not have enough time to do her task (I feel like the locations are random but that might be me). I then switched to John which has all of his tasks at the same location, making it a lot easier to track the other villagers. Maybe starting the day at 8am instead of 12 would make the game a lot easier (especially since some villagers start their schedule at 7am, which is a lot before 12).

I really think the concept has potential! So I hope you'll continue to push the idea and make a better experience!

Okay, played the fixed version! Still love the concept and the use of voice-acting! Personnaly, my favorite things in this game is how quickly you get back to the action once you "die". It does not get long to get back to the point where you got caught so you can try again.

I also like the endings! Pretty dark but I think it works well!

If I can still give criticism, I think the game could do with some optimisation, in know it's a big job but the game lagged a couple of times, might be a me issue though.

Congrats on the game!

Thank you for the feedback! I really wanted the player to be able to see the infestation of the station by the aliens, so I made sure to slowly transform the crew into the infected.

As for the generators, I though of putting their positions on the maps around the stations but I though it could ruin the exploration aspect, if I see that it's a recurring issue, I might go with the original plan.

Thanks a lot for playing!

Did not expect a 3D using pixels but it really made the game stand out! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and environment, it made exploring the world in search of the missing persons a lot more tense, the cutscenes and voice acting also made me really interested in the story! I wanted to know how persons ended up and what was the plan of the aliens.

I think that the aliens could be a little bit more agressive however, it might have been a bug but the first alien that that the player encounters did not move from his spot, removing some of the threatening aura and tension brought by the cutscene.

(Also, I don't know if it was on purpose but I got huge Resident Evil vibes when I entered the cabin and the music started playing, made me think of the safe rooms!)

Good job for the game!

Really amazing atmosphere, the lights breaking really caught me by surprise, it made the last stretch extremely tense! The highlight personnaly though is probably all this different ways you are supposed to find the mimics, the carrot caught me by surprise at first but then the garlic started talking!

I was kinda dissapointed that both ending were the same however, unless there is a bug, I think having an ending the reveals more could have been nice!

Othervise, amazing game! Good job!

I won't rate this one right now as the game seems to break after I enter the elevator. I hope you correct the bugs, so I can give it a fair rating! I will say that what I saw seemed really interesting! So I hope you can fix the issues.

Keep it up!

Did not expect a visual novel to show up in this horror jam but I was suprised! First off, I really like the visuals, the use of colder colors really gives a more desolate vibes to the environment, with the bar being one of the only environment with lighter colors!

I also really like the UI, the use of animations and colors makes it easy to spot important information in the text, so I know what to look for and remember as important.

I am not sure about the Happy End system however, might be that I am not the biggest VN fan, but I feel that having a randomized system linked to the choice might hurt replayability. I imagine missing a roll multiple times in a row and being blocked from an ending could be frustating to some.

Otherwise, keep it up! I really enjoyed what I saw here!

Did not expect a game about an underwater alien city to ressemble the 1920s but here we are! Really liked the gameplay on this one, the game not really telling you what to do works in it's advantage, really letting the player find the surprise on his own. The ending also really surprise me, did not expect it to end like this.

I also like the visuals, it's just simple enough to allow the player to fill the gaps himself and it's also really out there (duck-alien costume lol).

As for the ending question, I think you should continue this! If you can integrate more weapons and push the settings of the water city, I feel like we could get a great experience!

Good job on the game!

Thanks for the feedback and video! I really appreciate it, I'll try to implement some kind of auto-save where you mentionned, that's a great idea!

Quite a faster paced action game! Exploring the sewers (who seemed randomly generated?) and fighting the alien rats has a good feel of speed and killing them felt good. I wasn't too sure about the garbage however, I think you end up fighting rats more than anything and there is not a lot of life to spare.

I really like how the more you go down, the more things are added to the pool, either spaceships or purple aliens to add to the mix.

If you end up pushing the idea, I hope you add animations or a way to prepare the player to the attacks of the rats! Right now, I ended up taking a lot more hits than I had hoped.

Congrats on the game!

Really nice presentation! The idea of a dog using it's owner to beat the crap out of aliens is hilarious, especially because of the dialogue in-game. I also really enjoy the multiple endings as it really increases replayability!

I really liked the visuals and animation in particular, it sells the 80s low budget alien movie vibe and lowers tension, even while being chased by an alien.

I did wish there was a need to use both of the items though, I ended up winning with the good ending only by going around to each human and using the boombox. I hope, if you continue to develop the idea, that you might add an alien that requires the knife to find, right now, I feel the night passed a little too slowly because of the simple mechanic.

Hope you develop the idea to add that little "oomph" to the hunting. Otherwise, I really liked this one! Congrats!

Super simple concept but great execution! Took me a while to get the joke but it made laugh a lot.

Also, as someone that uses notes in my game, I feel attacked.

Hope you had fun making it! You have a really strong atmosphere that you can build up on, can't wait to play more!

Big thanks for the feedback! Really happy that you ended up enjoying the experience, even though everyone ended up dead! The maps where a last minute addition so it might indeed be hard to read, I'll go check to see if I can add a light toggle!

Really like the alien's design in this game! Seeing it get closer and closer does raise the tension but I think it would help if the alien got multiple possible path to take! Right now, it feels like we have to switch cameras for a very arbitrary reason instead of something more unique.

Very cool game otherwise, like the visuals!

Won't lie, the basement made me really tense! I was expecting a jumpscare at any moment but the team managed to use the right amount of scares for it to work, I really expected to get chased at the end. Maybe in the sequel?

Good job! Keep it up!

Really cool game, I think the shooting mechanics are unique and the it makes the combat with the aliens a lot more tense, having to wait for the opening for a quick shot! The atmosphere is also great, hearing the noise the aliens make before encountering one really adds to the suspense.

I think the levels could be a little smaller though, the corridors and rooms are a little too big for the visibility and it makes dying a little too punishing personnaly.

Good job!

Really cute game, really interesting perspective for this jam, selling the fact that humans are the true monsters. Wanted the alien to survive and save all of his friends.  Seeing the humans ray of vision kind of took away from the horror though, even if I get why you decided to show it to the player.

Enjoyed it a lot!

Really cool short experience! Did not expect to end up having to shoot the alien in the face to win, that was a nice suprise. Personnaly, I think you could really push the agressiveness of the alien, you could make him run faster and maybe start some music? Really sell the intensity of being chase by an alien with a chainsaw.

Really cool demo!

Like the concept for this one and the use of voice-acting vs the in-game text to give different information. However, the game is a little too broken for me to get far, losing control of the character when an objective is complete.

Hope it can be fixed before the end of the rating period so I can give an accurate rating!

Keep it up!

Keep it up, I'll check out the more complete version for sure!

Really strong atmosphere in this one! It started out pretty light-hearted when I saw the UFO but then got pretty creepy with the pages. I do think the "perceived" ending comes a little early, I would a liked more encounters before the end.

Cool work!

I really enjoyed some of the visuals in this game, some of it just having the right amount of weirdness to it to creep me out. Although there is a pretty big inconsistency in the visuals, I like the final mesh of it all, really uncanny. I did have a hard time understanding what to do however, I think having an objective list would have helped a lot.

Also that intro got a big laugh out of me. Did not expect that.

(1 edit)

Really like the unique twist on this theme, with the aliens being really freaky (both terrifying and hilarious). Really enjoyed the visuals also, showing just enough visuals for the player to imagine what the world and creatures look like. I will say that it was quite hard to actually understand what I was supposed to do though, ended up just wandering around until I found the story.

Really nice job on this one!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere on this one! Won't lie, jumped a couple of times when an alien would spot me, especially due to the sound design. I would like have liked it the interactable elements popped up a little more in contrast to the rest of the environment however, ended up passing in front of important buttons multiple times because they did not distinguish themselves enougth from the rest of the environment.

Really nice game!
